NTFC Supporters Trust travel club is considering running a battlefields tour to the Western Front to visit the graves of fallen soldiers with links to the Cobblers.
In total, six former Northampton Town players were killed in 1918 - including the great Walter Tull, the player-manager Fred Lessons and Victoria Cross recipient Bernard Vann.
The tour would take place over two days in October - probably a Wednesday and Thursday - a few weeks before the Remembrance services reflecting the centenary commemoration of the end of the First World War.
No firm details of the tour are yet in place but the cost of the trip is likely to be in the region of 150 to 170 per person. The price would include:-
* Coach and Eurostar travel to France and travel between several battlefield and cemetery sites
* One night's accommodation at an hotel in Arras
* Expert insight with tour guides Graham McKechnie, a sports journalist with BBC Radio Northampton, and military historian Jon Cooksey
Would you be interested in joining this tour?
If so, please leave your expression of interest either a) in the comments section below b) a pm to myself or c) by email to ntfc_trust@outlook.com
Further details to follow in due course.

This is a great idea. Also an opportunity to stop at a number of southern Belgian towns and villages and sample excellent Belgian beers!
Verdun, Somme and Lille areas of France supposed to be good too!

When in Arras, try to take the underground tour of the massive set of tunnels in which the soldiers tries to undermine the enemy. The messages written on the walls are still there, very moving place. Maybe they could fix you a 90 min visit while you're there? They are not open every day.

NTFC Supporters Trust are pleased to announce that we will be organizing a Tour of the First World War Western Front Battlefields. 1918 marked the final year of the war and Northampton Town suffered grievously losing, in total six players, including Walter Tull, player manager Fred Lessons and Victoria Cross winner Bernard Vann.
To mark the death of these Cobblers players, a tour has been organized by Military historian and guide Jon Cooksey and BBC journalist Graham McKechnie, visiting some of the battlefields where these Northampton Town footballers fought and the cemeteries where they lie today.
Places visited will include Vimy Ridge, Bellenglise, Ramicourt, Bellicourt, Arras War Memorial, Tilloy British Cemetery, Eterpigny, Biefvillers, Pozieres Memorial, The Footballers Memorial at Guillemont, Trones Wood and Dive Copse.
This will take place departing from Sixfields early on Wednesday 10th October and arriving back late evening on Thursday 11th October.
The cost will be 160 per person sharing a twin/double room with a 40 supplement for a single room. This includes all travel on an executive coach with a toilet, Air Con, DVD player and hot drinks facilities. The channel crossing via the Euro Shuttle and one nights Bed & Breakfast in the Ibis Hotel in Arras, Northern France. A 40 per person deposit will be required on booking with the balance payable by the end of September.
