NTFC Supporters Trust travel club is considering running a battlefields tour to the Western Front to visit the graves of fallen soldiers with links to the Cobblers.
In total, six former Northampton Town players were killed in 1918 - including the great Walter Tull, the player-manager Fred Lessons and Victoria Cross recipient Bernard Vann.
The tour would take place over two days in October - probably a Wednesday and Thursday - a few weeks before the Remembrance services reflecting the centenary commemoration of the end of the First World War.
No firm details of the tour are yet in place but the cost of the trip is likely to be in the region of £150 to £170 per person. The price would include:-
* Coach and Eurostar travel to France and travel between several battlefield and cemetery sites
* One night's accommodation at an hotel in Arras
* Expert insight with tour guides Graham McKechnie, a sports journalist with BBC Radio Northampton, and military historian Jon Cooksey

When in Arras, try to take the underground tour of the massive set of tunnels in which the soldiers tries to undermine the enemy. The messages written on the walls are still there, very moving place. Maybe they could fix you a 90 min visit while you're there? They are not open every day.
