As the world cup is in full swing and we are still in the silly season as far as transfers go, who do people think would make the strongest international team of players who have been contracted to Northampton Town based on foreign born players (born outside the British Isles)

The players that spring to mind:

GK  Neal Kitson  (USA)

RB Pedj Bojic (Australia)
CB Gabor Gyepes (Hungary)
CB Gabriel Zakuani  (Zaire)
LB Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi (Ghana)

RM Eric Sabin (France)
CM Abdul Osman (Ghana)
CM Guillem Bauza (Spain)
LM Derek Asamoah (Ghana)

CF Carlo Corazzin (Canada)
CF Poul Hubertz (Denmark)

Not sure about the balance of the team and definitely weak in goal and left back. I'm sure other suggestions would improve it.

I have deliberately excluded loanees.

Got to have Phil neal in there - he was such a versatile player you could put him anywhere (including goalkeeper where he’d have been better than kitson)!

strange that you didn't notice he was born in what i assume (from your name) is your home town?!

which i believe is in the british isles - unless you are on the wind up, in which case fair enough - i have had a long day.

A small point, Zakuani represents DR Congo not Zaire.

Well if you are going to include Republic of Ireland born players then it would have to include the legendary Theo Foley at RB.

I think this thread will turn into people naming players with intentional appearances and not those born outside the UK  Grin

I believe his appearances were all intentional.
