I'm not denying that RO'D was a decent keeper but looking at the majority of tweets from our fans to him blowing smoke up his a@@e is a bit embarrassing - he only played 19 games for us, was part of a horrific relegation (ok not as responsible as the majority of others) and then decided to jump ship, the fact that he's now at his 16th club and is only 29 possibly speaks volumes.

That's because he keeps tweeting about having a good season. Only the other day he tweeted that next season will be a good one 100%. Or words to that effect.

That means feck all and dosen't mean it will be with us - look at what R O'D said at the end of last season - as others have said  wprds mean nothing these days.

Hope he stays as he has the potential to be utter quality but of all the players we signed in Jan and if R O'D had this or similar contact clause i'd be amazed if Facey didn't either.

Ingram was a much, much better keeper than ROD, who I actually thought was pretty ordinary. No loss, but some ridiculous decison making has obviously been made in January with these clauses. Paying a fee for people who can walk away for nothing 6 months later is financially laughable, but also from the point of view of the team is a ludicrous decision. Bringing players into what is probably not a great environment morale wise with the promise of a free get out is hardly likely to inpsire commited performances. No wonder Van Veen looked like he wasn't trying. He actually wasn't trying. Relegation was his preferred outcome presumably. .

That tw*t Turnbull can go now, clause or clause. He finished bottom with Coventry and thought he was too good to go down, then turns up here and we get the same result.

I agree with some of this:

Agreed bits; strange decision in allowing ROD to walkaway without receiving any financial contribution for him. Agree also on the affect it may have had on morale.

Not agreed : I thought that Ingrams's performances tailed off and ROD looked far more committed at the the time. Turnbull turned in some useful performances. Why do you label him as a 'twat'.

On the Fence - vV had no 90min game time ; was injured at AFC . It would not surprise me based on biased opinion on here to see vV  come good. In fact would love it.

This is largely down to JFH. It cost us money to cancel Ingram's contract so JFH could bring in an inferior replacement. The idea was to free up a loan signing but we saw how that worked out. I hope Turnbull's the other player. He can go if anyone wants him.

I hope our owners look at their part in this. With the best intentions, they made an enormous mistake sanctioning signing players, where a transfer fee is paid, for them to walk away for free a few months later. I accept this was done for the right reasons but a club like ours needs firm guidelines in how it manages its finances and expenditure.

Agree but I am sure that the owners were, at that time, confident that JFH was going to avoid relegation because he had said he would if new players were signed.
A mistake or a bad g.amble in hindsight, however at the time the odds appeared to be in the clubs favour with us safe and RO'D eventually being signed by another club for a fee in the future .
We were relegated, we lost and we await to discover who else was brought in on similar 'JFH' terms.

If VV , Turnbull and Facey don’t want to be here , they shouldn’t be training with the first team . It’s as simple as that . Things may have changed over the summer , which is fine and we can wipe the slate clean.
Austin will take no rubbish though and likes strong characters that are committed . For that reason , I do believe it will be sorted quickly .
I know a few players were reprimanded for winding down too early at the end of the season and not taking responsibilities seriously . That’s just football but it shows he takes no sh*t.

Facey and Bridge were at the Spinney Hill last night for the big screen. Take what you want from that. Probably nothing.

It looks like another player missed Ash Taylor's "We players got us in this mess and we'll stick together to get out of it" meeting.

They never actually got going let alone start winding down. The reprimanding should have started a lot earlier than the week before Plymouth (H)
