Does anyone know that he definitely wants to play somewhere else or is this another one of those rumours that ends up as fact on here?

The issue for a lot of our players may well be wages - They may want to play somewhere else but will another team match the inflated wages we are paying. If not the players has got a decision - either stay with us on the higher wages or take a cut but play at a higher level (VV, Crookes, Ash Taylor, Turnbull etc) or with more prospects of playing (Waters, Kasim, Coddington etc)

I agree with this - it looks pretty obvious that none of the remaining “quality” players like crooks, Taylor and to a lesser extent van veen have got the same relegation release clause that O’Donnell had - if they did then the vultures would have swooped already. Not only is it a case of other clubs matching their wages but we would also (hopefully) be looking for a decent transfer fee for them which may well be putting other clubs off.

Thanks, but that didn't answer the question.

I don't think anyone has mentioned anything concrete yet, there have been a lot of mutterings about our "big name" players though.

I'll stick my neck out and say Ash and Crooks will deffo be here for this season. If not, you can all delightedly rub it in my face.  Grin

Does anyone truthfully know how much these supposedly high earners are on?

Maybe noone wants them as they're just off the back of a god awful relegation season.

Fast forward 12 months and let's say we tear up L2 a la Wilder and Crooks becomes the new Ricky. Then there will be queues but now? Not so sure myself

Still no stand out leader on the pitch. IMO it was our biggest missing factor last season and it’s still not been addressed. A seasoned experienced pro in centre mid please, if Crooks goes. If he stays it probably won’t happen though?

Not sure about this, I would have thought Buchs, Taylor, possibly Williams are all good leaders. Also JJOT to an extent. If I compare the current squad to the one that walked this league a couple of years ago I wouldn’t say the title winning team screamed leadership over this one.

I don’t think anyone would argue with that. Add in a wide player, keep the key players and I reckon we look alright

Good point, probably need a keeper more as well? Clearly you lot have given this more thought than I have.
