Good evening all, I wonder if anyone with a decent long term memory could help me. I’m trying to identify a photo and what game it was taken at?
The photo shows Steve Ogrizovic, in what looks as though it may be a Coventry shirt, on a stretcher with paramedics and an ambulance driver around him as well as stewards and a few young supporters. At the back of the photo I can clearly see the old mike man Pete Smith so that has to give it a date of some sort.
Does anyone have a memory of Ogrizovic being injured seriously enough at Sixfields that he would need hospital care. I got to most home games when Pete Smith was on the mike but have no memory of this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Ralph.

That report can't be correct, 25th April 1995 is in the season, that year we were in the 4th division and Coventry were in the Prem, Can only have been a pre season but I can't recall playing Coventry in any pre season. Marvo is on FB he might know !

I went to that game, it was a friendly played during the season. I can't remember the reason why it was played.  A quick Google search comes up with the programme for sale on eBay for £1.99. Confirms the date as 25 April 1995.

I think it may have been billed as an ''award to fans' , but that probably just that club cashing in on Sixfields still being relatively new.

The game was played 25th April 1995, 745 kick off. Ian Atkins said, ' It's a way of saying thank you to the fans who have stuck by us through thick and thin this season. I was watching Coventry Reserves when they approached us about a first team friendly which they were happy to make public. They've got a long break and the match fits in nicely between two away games for us.'
Coventry won 3-0. Cobblers team;  Ovendale, Norton, Shaw, Sampson, Warburton, Daniels, Colkin, Brown, Thompson, Burns, Dalby. subs. who played- Harrison, Stoneman, Aldridge, Cahill, James.
     Att. 2848.
The Chronicle reported Steve Ogrizovic ' was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle after a collision with eager Cobblers trialist Tony Dalby.'
