Lots of ex Cobblers players in League Two this year, is this the most we will see back at Sixfields (Sorry, PTS) in a single season?

Here is the list as I make it currently (Add the ones in that I miss!):

Nicky Adams (Bury), Gary Deegan (Cambridge), Hallam Hope (Carlisle), Ben Tozer (Cheltenham), Luke Prosser/Luke Norris (Colchester), Lewis Young (Crawley), Alex Nicholls (Crewe), Hiram Boateng/Lee Martin (Exeter), Lee Collins (Forest Green), JJ Hooper (Grimsby) Neal Eardley (Lincoln), Paul Anderson/Zander Diamond (Mansfield), Lee Nicholls/Lawson D'Ath (MK Dons), Shaun Brisley (Notts County), Giles Coke (Oldham), Luke Wilkinson/Alex Revell/Joel Byrom/Emmanuel Sonupe (Stevenage), Marc Richards/Matt Taylor/Keshi Anderson/Jak McCourt (Swindon)

That's 27 players, some loans, some permanent and some legends.

Isn't Zander Diamond still at Mansfield?

Also, Alfie Potter is training with Swindon, who seem to be trying to sign as many ex Cobblers as possible.

He is not listed in their squad, so maybe released? I know they transfer listed him.

Edit: Have checked and he is still there, Nathan Cameron is training with them also.

My word that is a lot of awful players in league 2 then this year...............we really have released some tosh over the years and most fans probably went bonkers when we did release them.

currently nicholls would be the only one i would take back - as we need a keeper.

the rest are all past it, or just not good enough

I agree except I would have Adams back in a heartbeat also, His corners and set pieces would be welcome.

I also think that comparing our players now to the ones release we could really push on if the squad does not get decimated.

Tozer and Coke still going, there must be a few like them that are just squad players though?

£5 on JJ Hooper to score against us!

If Ben Tozer is GJ's starter in the middle of the park I think we can write off Cheltenham's chances! Can't believe that Gary Deegan is still around as well.

Shame Hilda's not around still the reacquaint himself with Lee Martin!

I'd have Diamond back in a flash, much better than Taylor, also importantly his first ball out from the back is very good and set us up with good possession, rather than a wayward punt, probably a lot cheaper also.

Have a coffee.....

There is a reason why Diamond has been released by L2 Mansfield and a reason why Taylor is wanted by teams in L1 and Scotland.

The only part you right on is that Diamond would be cheaper

It would appear your a bit ABT

All about opinions. Taylor is good in the air, but take a good look at his distribution and general footwork next time you're at a match.

As for Scottish Prem sides wanting him, a top SPL player has just joined a team in the Conference.

Why this obsession with cost? You're not at work now.
Zanders two best attributes were his commitment to the cause and his ability to fall over and win a free kick when touched from behind. With the ball at his feet he was extremely limited, defensively he had the speed and turning circle of an oil tanker.
Taylor is a much better player, don't let any of your goals against 'stats' convince you otherwise.

Because it’s not fantasy football where we can sign Harry Maguire, we have to cut our cloth accordingly, no point being unrealistic with who we’d like to sign.
I’ll stick to what I think, Diamond was a better centre back for us than Taylor has been so far.
