The Cobblers have signed goalkeeper Lewis Ward from Championship club Reading on a season-long loan, the club have announced.
He is our fourth signing of the season. It comes after Dean Austin promised to "bring in an new number one" after the departure of Richard O'Donnell.

Released by Reading 2 days after they sign former Cobblers loanee Sam Walker, the ex Chelsea keeper we had here in 2011/12 season.
Ward himself has yet to play for Reading but has played conference football for Aldershot.

Happy with this.
Just signed a new deal with Reading, so they obviously rate him...
Looks an absolute beast too...a proper keeper.
Welcome aboard Lewis!

We’re a bit goalie heavy, Coddington must be on the move

Another signing with little speculation beforehand. The regime keep pretty tight lipped about new signings.
I know we would all like to strengthen across the squad but a GK was the most important. Let's hope he's up to it. Good luck.

Looks a beast and from his Twitter videos seems a very good signing and a big presence between the sticks.

This for me is a very good sign of a professionally run club and be it player signing speculation, redevelopment rumors or any other “in the know” nonsense it shows it for exactly what it is. Agreed on paper looks a good and necessary signing

I've got a friend who is a shots fan and he has said very positive things about Lewis. Really happy with this signing.

Same geezer you brought along to Cheltenham a few years back...totally off his trolley?

Same geezer you brought along to Cheltenham a few years back...totally off his trolley? That's the one Wilders first game. Good memory mate. Definitely better than his of the day

Spoke to an Aldershot Season Ticket Holder today, said he was a great shot stopper however wasn't very good at commanding his area, especially on crosses and prone to the odd mistake. But he is young and has lots of potential, they were looking to have him on loan again this season and were disappointed that he had gone somewhere else.
