Given the last 2 years, he has a BIG job to do .... So just back him and let him get on with it. Hes had 4 months, Lincoln for example have been 2 years plus in the making .... You wont see the best of DA or his team for another 6 months

Couldn't fault his team selection today, we had a lot of possession, a lack of cutting edge in the final third and our that inability to close down and mark strikers struck again

Waters didn't get a look in (despite the pre season he had)
Hoskins stuck out on the wing
Late second sub, didn't use a third
Must do better

Lincoln didn't deserve fvuk all today & had we buried our chances this topic wouldn't have even been started...Can't blame DA for not taking our chances ffs!
DA will make mistakes along the way & hopefully learn from them...
Most of us wanted DA to get the gig full time so let's just get behind him as I for one am sick of constantly changing managers...

Questionable substitutions, like Wallsaw last season, but, lets give him a chance. He will learn from his errors.

Thats my worry too! Being loyal to players is an admirable trait but another poor start will get the natives very restless in quick time, My real worry is playing two players up front who more or less consistlntly failed last season and did so again today. Not full of confidence with DA's selection /sub decisions today! We dont want another mountain to climb yet again.

He was as inept at his job Vs Lincoln as his predecessors were last season, he made blindingly obvious mistakes. Lets see if he has any clue next week.

Today was very worrying. The only noticable difference to last season was that the opposition was far worse.

He could do with working out pretty quickly that bridge isn’t the answer and to have Hoskins on the bench - having said that if he is on every set piece then perhaps that’s unlikely (surely Powell can take a corner/free kick as he is never going to get on the end of one). Ironically I think the biggest issue Austin will have is if/when we get taken over - any new investor is likely to want someone more high profile and he needs some results pretty quickly.

You can blame him for continuously picking hoskins when he is clearly not good enough

I sincerely hope not. That said, yesterday's management of the side during the match was a disappointment and DA will need to do better. Bridge rather than Foley was a mistake since it meant JJOT had to play the defensive midfield role when we were chasing the game. Also, not to bring on Waters and Van Vaan when forwards were wilting in the heat and not impressing was poor. Lots of comments elsewhere about Hoskins and it is fair to say his delivery and shooting are not good enough most of the time. To make Hoskins our dead ball specialist is very questionable. Powell should have been taken off earlier. He went AWOL after his terrible miss. DA needs to speak to him about this (not the first time it has happened) and about taking on and getting past defenders. Rumours persist about Crooks wanting out. I have no means of knowing if this is just the rumour mill at work or not but we will know for sure by Thursday. If he goes and with McWilliams likely to be out for the remainder of August with a hamstring injury DA will need to reshuffle his midfield and maybe bring someone in to allow JJOT to play where is more effective. I think Foley can do a job for us but he needs to be played in his natural position. It is alarming that critical comments are being made about DA after match #1. We need patience and let's not lose sight of the fact that despite yesterday not being DA's best if Hoskins, Powell and Williams x2 had taken simple chances the supporters would have gone home happy and optimistic.

Agree with most of that Vintage, but I think the reason he's on a shorter than normal honeymoon period with the fans is because he was part of JFH' s management team which has obviously tarnished him a little. He was also the cheap option after having to pay that fcuking idiot Hasselbiank off. The Bridge substitution instead of Foley was a terrible mistake, he did the same thing ar Walsall as well with VV. He's got more about him than JFH but not sure how much?

Our managers rarely last long upon on attempts to get promotion straight away after relegation.
I really hope this time is different but I think we need a sense of realism. A series of very poor transfer windows and this squad is going to take a lot to turn it around however I don't think our supporters have got the patience for it.

True but thats because as I have stated on many occasions our fans are basically gutless. Not for the trenches our lot.
