I'll just point out that the performance at Carlisle was not good #iwasthere. So at least 2 of the 4 have been bad performances.

They aren't playing badly, 1 bad performance in 4 league games.

What's frustrating, is whenever a team fancy a goal against us they just seemingly walk through the middle of the pitch and score. We're very easy to play against at the moment and teams know this.

Very true, hopefully O'Toole and McWilliams stiffen up the centre.

1 draw and 3 defeats in their first four league games, plus a home defeat by Crewe in the League Cup.......then 1 defeat (and that was in the FL Trophy) in their next 19 games (13 wins)

Thanks GP for the facts - so all is not lost just yet. Do you agree?

"Playing well" doesn't just mean creating chances. That's just one aspect of the game. Others being scoring goals, and stopping the opposition creating chances and scoring goals themselves. So we're probably only 25% of where we need to be to win games. We are easy to play against -still. Just like last season with a soft centre and an inability to finish off our chances.

I agree with all this, except I think we are 75% there not 25%, because, despite the shortcomings you mention, if we take our chances we will do well. We create more/better chances than our opponents, so even with a dodgy defence and a "soft centre" we should be scoring more than them. I think DA's system accepts that we will concede goals. It's based on us scoring more than the opposition and we become easy to play against if we don't convert. If players start to take chances it will come good, if not DA will have to change the system completely or will end up getting fired. I honestly think it's as simple as that.

we have drawn 2-2 twice. in those games, chances were taken and goals were scored. As Austin said himself, you shouldn't need to be scoring 3 goals a game to ensure victory.

It really isn't as simple as 'we are not taking our chances'. We have thrown away leads, switched off at crucial times and consistently allow opposition to run at us in possession without even attempted a challenge.

I'm not trying to say taking chances is the only problem we have. I agree about the others. What I am saying is that if we'd taken a reasonable number of the good chances we've had, we'd probably have 8 points instead of 2 and we'd all be relatively happy. We would have beaten Lincoln and Cambridge for a start and we wouldn't be so worried about our poor defence, safe in the knowledge that we coud score more. I'm confident a decent return of goals from the chances we create will see us win more than we lose.

Almost always down to fine margins though. No matter what anyone says about this Mad we all know what KTs like. Lose against Colchester and Tranmere or fail to win any of the next 3 and we will probably see the next bloke up trying to get something out of this squad? I don’t say that with any particular pleasure, I just think that’s the way it will be if we don’t start winning PDQ. That’s possibly 10 days away?

Make the defending better and then scoring will be less of an issue. If we keep a clean sheet we will ony need one goal to win. It's that simple.

That most on here applauded when he made them.

I'd give Austin the net three L2 games. Colchester A , Tranmere H and Cheltenham H. At least 4 points from those three games or he should go.

Ahead of the game at the moment.

Austin has done well to get the best out of the players after Tuesday .
He is clearly a passionate and intense man .
I’m really pleased about the first win but he needs to temper it a bit in the interviews .
He does have a tendency to overstate things a bit much .
