Good point, back to shuffling the current squad then?

Think I saw that a proposed move for John Terry to one of the Moscow clubs has stalled?

The lure of the PTS Academy is obviously greater than we realise!

To be honest , Dean says too much in interviews .
He needs to keep his council a bit .
Just win football matches Dean and get the best out of the group of players .
The talent is there but the commitment is not from the players .

Maybe you could double up as his PA jabbing him in the ribs when he goes on a mumble during interviews?

The transfer window might be closed but we can still bring in free agents. So Mathieu Flamini, Patrice Evre, John Terry and Robbie Keane then?

John Terry will do nicely please.

I don't honestly see a lack of commitment and desire or a lack of effort.

More a case of poor game management, lapses in concentration, and a total lack of on-field leadership. I also believe over confidence is more of an issue than lack of confidence. Cheltenham and Morecambe have both beaten us, and they are hardly beating anyone else. On the flip side, Colchester have only lost one game...to us.

If Taylors interview is anything to go by, then that surely provides evidence for the above!

I do. Goals 1 & 3 against Cheltenham were directly as a result of people not willing to bust a gut to win the ball before their opponent.

Watch recent goals conceded and see for yourself how players just amble about or are slow to react .
Listen to what Sammo or Martin Smith say on the radio .

i think its down to everything you have said, and a lack of both desire and effort

at 2-1 down and 3-1 down to cheltenham there was absolutely no desire shown by anyone to try and get us back into the game...............we were still happy to play 5 yard passes in slow motion between the 2 centre halves and crooks - who played deeper than any cheltenham player by about 20 yards - i think he must have made more passes than anyone, yet didnt affect the game is any way at all - just passing for passing sake.

no desire, no urgency, no application, no leadership, a lack of confidence resulting in a lack of responsibility on the pitch - with and without the ball.

Just watch McWilliams and Crooks barely jogging back and allowing two midfields to burst into the box when Facey gives away the pen. If he gets that cross in we'd have been in big trouble.

I've stated previously. The big mistake was allowing a quick freekick to be taken. I'd crucify a teammate in 5aside if someone let that happen. Common sense.

Sorry didn't see your comment. Besides, what Facey was thinking giving away that pen I have no idea.

From the highlights, it looked like Facey didn't tackle him, just got too close and the forward made the most of it once he was inside the area?

To me he clearly leads with his left leg and brings him down. His + others lack of protests suggest it was stonewall! No other angles though to see if there was actual contact.

In my mind, it was poor marking with said player out of position; resulting in a poorly timed tackle =  grudgingly a penalty.

Personally, I wouldn't want John Terry either. Id prefer us to try and get Rio Ferdinand out of requirement. Its well known that the two of them don't get on well and it could cause friction in the dressing room if we were to sign both of them.

Right, we are in a bit of a hole at the moment with results and lack of progress off the pitch but have we really got that desperate?
