"The Imps were deserving of their victory on the balance of play"
No, they were not. That was obvious to all in the ground to see.

Lincoln were very, very poor.
It says a lot about the state of our team at the moment that we managed to find a way to lose to them.

Clearly on the balance of play we were fortunate...I did mention on earlier thread that now was best time to play us as the 8 new signings work out how to play together and that showed - feel if you had a decent home following you would have roared team forward to a draw but that soul-less concrete shell with 4.5k home fans sprinkled all over was never going to inspire the extra 10% needed on a hot day against a resolute and organised away team. Crookes and Hoskins were your stand out players (yet Hoskins getting general dogs abuse on here ??) Stewarding was excellent thanks ..catering decent but geared up for 3-400 away fans. Had you given us the East Stand we would have filled it bringing in another £30k to your coffers ...money still talks in L2. Was surprised Austin was not more active chasing the game late on but carry on playing like that and you will be right up there at the business end. We will improve for sure ..only played the 3 CBs set up in 2 pre-season games and once last year so learning curve

When you were in the league in 2010-11 you got roughly 3-3500 for most home games, including away supporters, yet you come on here putting our home attendance down You were bang average on the day with only 4 shots all game, your strikers certainly like the use of the elbow though. I would like to wish you good luck for the rest of the season but I can't find it in my heart to do so, sorry.

Incidentally Lincoln were the quietest fans to visit us this season.
There was about 20 14yr olds before the game thinking they were hard.
Awful away support in terms of noise, good in numbers.

"On the balance of play, Lincoln deserved to win" ? How on earth do you come to that conclusion, you could argue that Lincoln gave a professional display and ground out a result but even the Lincoln manager said thet were lucky.

I said you deserved to win and was stating the obvious in that 4500 fans spread out all around a ground which sure aint built for atmosphere - you talk about 2010 and cannot wish us good luck ...we had it yesterday thanks You banned the 2 drums and let us have half the tickets we could have sold so you could sprinkle a hundred fans in your East Stand hence it was a season ticket fest only for tickets (we have 6300 of them so it is a lottery) ...in 2010 Chris fkwit Sutton was destroying our club and we had crap crowds like you do now ..hence we too lost home points we could have gained Teams reflect fans reflect teams i guess ...yesterday you were pretty and functional and unlucky - for a first game at home you had 3 minutes of atmosphere in a game you bossed .. I do wish you good luck (except at Sincil Bank where you will meet a wall of noise) but be aware we are nowhere near the most physical team you will face this season and your players will need to grow a pair on some trips to the nether parts like Grimsby Mansfield and Newport

We are unable to take advice from a back water club that just spent 5 years in the non league wilderness😂 You're on a bit of high on the back of a cup run and getting back into the league and fair play and all that, but where our 2 clubs differ greatly is our fans rallied behind our club in its darkest hours and kept turning up through thin and thinner yours abandoned you en mass to a non league fate.

Like someone else said, for almost 1500 fans you were very quiet, even Accrington Stanley made more noise with their 90 fans the last time we played them. I look forward to that 'wall of noise' you promise us.

Was a quiet day all round some of which for the reasons i mentioned - considering we had 1 attempt on target there was little to get too excited about...You seem to forget decades in the Southern League ..a crowd under 1000 and avoiding the trapdoor only due to Kiddy being totally tinpot...anyway we all move on to the next one ..come to Lincoln and enjoy a real football atmosphere later in the season or are you just a keyboard 'fan' - beer on me in the fanzone - i will lurk here as I reckon you will be up there as long as you forget last season ..knuckle down because this a tough division and get behind your team a bit more :-)

haha "decades" in the Southern League, Jesus Christ where to even begin with that one. Also you were given our full away allocation it wasn't anything personal against Lincoln that you didn't get more tickets. Maybe next time we'll just give you all 4 stands.

Christ, when did Lincoln City become massive?
f*** me. The 100 fans supporting Man Utd U23s in a Friendly made more noise, that isn't a joke either, they genuinely did. Fans reflect the team? Lincoln, large, dull, ugly?

..You seem to forget decades in the Southern League
It was 98 years ago so it's doubtful if there is a living person who can remember it. I DO remember playing at Sincil Bank in 1985/6 when the gate was 4012 with just under 3000 from Northampton. That's 30 years ago so not really relevant but a bit more relevant than 98 years ago

Having seen Lincoln live for the first time, I can certainly see why the Cowley brothers haven't got jobs higher up the pyramid. I can't see fans of top end League 1 or even Championship clubs being willing to watch that type of football.
As for the game - Lincoln did deserve to win on the basis that our finishing was abysmal (did you ever think Hoskins, Powell & Williams x2 would score?) and they were a very clinical winning machine, whereas we have a squad made up largely of serial losers.
