For those travelling up to Carlisle this weekend, especially by train, an array of decent bars and pubs await...
301 Miles From London. Platform 4, of the station. Opens apparently at 8am - we have a few arriving unbelievably at 9am!
More or less over the road on Lowther St; Last Zebra Bar. Real and craft ales.
Literally around the corner from there is Devonshire St, with a load of decent bars, including; Eaten by Monsters Fat Gadgie Thin White Duke.
All serving real ales as well as continental beers.
Of course on Botchergate, two Wetherspoons pubs and the Beehive on Warwick Rd, almost opposite Brunton Park, has always been decent!

Slightly off topic but quite a few very unhappy on the Oxford Forum. More so now RH has fallen thru'.
Completely off topic, not slightly. No away games for me this year Radio numpty will have to do.

That was a fine day Keith Curle made his ridiculous comment about not knowing how we were top of the league.

Maybe. In my experience, think I'd have to say Accrington or Barnsley. Other end of the spectrum...St Albans, Oxford and obviously the Smoke!

Always get a crick in your neck, at that away end. Constant looking to your left. Or dodging the coin chuckers.

That was a fine day Keith Curle made his ridiculous comment about not knowing how we were top of the league. Don’t you hate managers who say we’re a great side who will be a very difficult test? I much prefer the Noel Cantwell/Michael Crappleton/Keith Curle type who slag you off. Raises the pulse a bit.

Kelvin Thomas said in one of his interviews he had a laugh in the directors box at us singing "we're top and you don't know why". Was a great day out, well worth the journey. Carlisle fans were a great bunch of supporters too, was just after they'd had the floods and was like a ghost town around the stadium, except the pub and the ground!

Another interesting selection dilemma for Austin.
It sounds like McWilliams is miraculously near contention, but as someone said on another thread it doesn't make sense to risk him. Personally I would be inclined to play Foley. However, I wouldn't be massively opposed to the idea of giving Bowditch a try in the hole.

I'm completely guessing but when everyone is fit I think DA will have Williams and Morais up front together so it makes sense to me that we play in that shape now.
If it was me picking the team this weekend I would be tempted to give Waters a run alongside Williams and maybe look to bring Morais on for the last 20 or so to ease him in. But it's not up to me so I suspect he will either go with Hoskins up front and Bridge wide right or back to how we started last week with JJOT behind Williams with Foley or Shaun "Lazarus" McWilliams in midfield. This probably means Hoskins on the wing again.

How many points will DA let Cornell cost us before he inevitably replaces him with Ward?

The problem again is that we don't have the left-sided midfielder/winger necessary to play a 4-4-2. I can't see past 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 at the moment, otherwise we're firmly in square pegs and round holes territory. I also think that if we did try and play 442 it could get very one paced and predictable. I agree with you that Waters deserves a game, though. I make it 5 goals in pre-season for him (if you count the behind-closed-door game). Surely that form should equate to some game time?

Powell can apparently play both wings, so when fit, do you think Facey could play on the right wing? He appears to be a defender that can play right wingback instead of just right back and seems good going forward. Maybe that's the way we balance it out.
