Very poor against a poor side. Where's the intensity that we had when Austin first came in? Where are the players busting a gut to get on the end of crosses?
Half the time we're crossing to nobody. And even then we had enough chances in the last 15 minutes to win the game and missed them all once again. It actually seems almost like a jinx. Powell and JJ both missed sitters. It's the players fault to an extent for not putting chances away game after game. Until they do it's time for DA to stop the "we're going to hammer somebody soon talk" and start sorting things out. Time for results, not talk.

For all the plaudits Crooks gets he has still missed 3 sitters in the last 2 games, makes ridiculous attempts on goal, gives the ball away in dangerous positions and makes stupid unnecessary fouls when we are chasing the game.
People have a go at Hoskins but ffs compared with Powell he is a footballing genius.
Tonight’s performance had the tone of a side that simply isn’t up for it - truly awful.
Ah people are starting to wake up on Crooks, about time...

I’m a bit confused - the spin put out by KT (who?) and Austin was that it was a coup that we managed to keep hold of the squad that got us relegated?

Radio Northampton awful too. Couldn't hear Tim O with the crowd noise (all 1500) and constant interruptions with travel etc.
Bad night all round.
His favorite saying is “he’s over cooked the pass” - at least 20 times tonight

Surely now there’s gotta be some loan movement in, and hopefully out? Mind u whose gonna want to come here.

Powell got muscled off the ball so many times it was embarassing. FFS he's one of the biggest players in the team.

Likewise nobody will want to take any of this utter s***e we have. Hence why none of them left in the summer. People need to realise this was a team that got relegated, expecting us to bounce back straight away is ridiculous and said before the season started we have more chance of going down than up and....

He really is woeful , should have smashed that effort in the roof of the net, he has no confidence whatsoever and offers nothing.

Yep. On tonight's performance albeit as a sub he shouldn't get in the 18 for a few matches at least. Muscled off the ball, didn't want to take his man on, didn't seem to want to put crosses in, absolutely terrible.

I don't think new players are the answer. These should be good enough. Overall they create enough chances to win games, but they are simply not taking their chances and lack confidence. They also need to work harder during matches and show a bit more aggression and will to win. Austin says they have it but us fans aren't seeing it so something's wrong.

Don't forget our defence is weaker this season without O'Donnell (Buchs a season slower too).
And no Grimes . He was a good player despite what numpties on here claim

The only decent thing about tonight was the coverage on I follow. The first time I had watched anything and impressed to be honest, pity the team didn’t show up, to impress us, again.

I said early in the summer that the majority are simply not good enough and therefore wholesale changes were needed. It's **** Austin that came out and said 2 or 3 just needed adding.
We had the worse defence comfortably in LG1 last year, you cannot just go with the same players and hope for a different outcome, yes the opposition quality has dropped by our issues are STILL there. Exactly the same with creativity going forward and finishing.
You keep pkaying hoskins, Cornell, Barnett, Powell etc week in week out, players that are simply not good enough you will get tge same results.
He needs to learn and learn quickly or our season will be over and he will be gone. I bet Colchester are licking their lips at pkaying us Saturday
Spot on. I was saying exactly this all summer. People seem to think that a drop in league automatically means the players you had before will all of a sudden come good. I couldn't believe when Austin previously said 'I'd be happy for the season to start now with this squad'. What does he see because quite frankly I see the same lack of quality and desire that was evident last year. Happy to be proved wrong but so far its not looking great. Looking ahead to Colchester, Morias needs to start for me. His mobility gives us more of a threat up front. O'toole missed a golden chance today, but he's the best player at the club and should be the first name on the team sheet (if fully fit) in my opinion. Turnbull should come in for Buchanan and I'm also baffled as to why Waters isn't getting a look in. Hoskins and Powell wouldn't even get into Morecambe's starting eleven and look like non-league players.

Good point about MK. They change the manager and acquired new players. NTFC kept the same management and most of the same players. Time will tell which was the best move.

But but....a new manager needs time, time to bring players in and get the side to gel.......how can MK do it with their new manager?? And what about Tisdales former club, managed by Matt Taylor, in his first managerial appointment....how are they doing?
