Williams, Bowditch & Powell start and cobblers don’t score, there’s a shock!
That’s more than a bit harsh on Williams, he’s feeding off scraps - give him decent service and he’ll score goals. I’d agree on Bowditch and Powell though.

Assuming no further injuries, a 1-0 loss the perfect nights work. Still no subs from muppet Austin. Get bridge and foley on ffs
Merely on the bench to satisfy the 5 players from the previous / next game rule

I'd have thought we should be putting our best team out and getting them to gel. Whatever the competition. When we're sat in the promotion spots, then you can rest players now and then.
But then, does he know our best side?

Not positive, with a lot of head shaking, for much of the game. That's what one win in eight does for you.

I get a feeling we all want him to do well but those stats are not great. We have to figure in the result against a p i s s poor team like Morecombe! We win that game they sit rock bottom of the the table with zero points.

First half was poor and WW looked a decent side. Be interesting to see how many of their first team played. We were very disjointed first half, but for Ward who was impressive would have been 0-2. For me Ward only real success but Powell had an effective 2nd half and at times they could not handle him. Water also better as the play and standard thereof much improved 2nd half. Williams S withdrawn 2nd half but acquitted himself well. JJOT flitted in out of game. Williams (A) was very poor did not put dhimself about all game, never in the right place at the right time. Bowditch should have equalised towards the end his weak effort cleared off the line! The first half was poor with most players going awol. Dolphin had a shocker but did ok 2nd half. In his game summary DA was criticiicall of whole team first half and expressed disappointment with senior players contribution. Bowditch JJOT and Williams(A) had ineffective games. Barnett and Turnbull ok and tried 2nd half. S.Williams doesn’t look fit and JJOT half the player he was. Ward did well but lacks a bit of presence for a 6’ 5” player. Seems ok as a standin for Cornell. You do worry about the form/attitude of some players and Chelts won’t be easy and probably fancy a point at least on Saturday. On the other hand our results match SU 2017 so that is a little comfort.

Sounded a really poor performance once again tonight and 1 win in 8 is shocking whatever way you look at it.
His win % from the day he started must be down with JFH.
Saturday looks massive again for him, Cheltenham can't buy a win, so it's a must win you'd say for us.

Only one of their team from Saturday started tonight (Anthony Stewart, and he was taken off at half time)

Cheltenham did win at Cambridge, and before Saturday their four defeats were all by a single goal, however a 3-1 loss at home to Colchester was followed by a 4-0 defeat to Forest Green tonight.......if we don't beat these......!! (Morecambe have won 1 and lost the other 7 games they have played this season.....any idea who their win was against?)

Bad luck on Friends; with my two sons and two b-in-l tonight but of course you are welcome! Relax and go with the flo’!
I did indeed relax, on the chaise lounge at around 6pm and woke up just after kick off. Sounds like I had the best part of the deal

Give DA a chance . He has nowhere to go with players on big contracts and no ability to churn . Give him time

It was very poor tonight, you would have thought that these players, not in the first team at the moment, would have been bursting a gut to impress,. but not many did
Ward - Looked OK couldn't be faulted for the goal. Odoffin - Started poorly and got worse, anyone know where we can contact Brendan Moloney? J. Williams - First game and did OK Barnett - Won most things in the air, I think it was him who gave the scorer room to turn but, otherwise OK Turnbull - OK but certainly no better than Buchs Powell - Loads of ability, has he showed in the 2nd half but absolutely no bottle. The most frustrating Cobblers player of the last decade. JJOT - The haircut has had the Samson effect, terrible 1st touch every time he got the ball Shaun McWilliams - Looked short of match practise but came more into the game in the 2nd half Bowditch- THE diffinition of light weight, with him and Powell in the team you will struggle Waters - Played wide and proved what we all know, he's not a winger, had our best effort on goal, give him a go in the middle Williams -Had no service but didn't look too interested anyway.
Roll on Saturday when, hopefully, we won't have to watch too many of tonights team

Barnett and McWilliams (maybe JJ) were the only players who should be near the first team Saturday! The rest missed an opportunity.
With a striking slot to fill I was suprised Waters not played down the middle, so I presume Williams will play up front.

I wasn't there so but it's worrying when the Manager says he doesn't know why the team played badly. It was a reserve side on the pitch which gives a lie to all the usual pre-match stuff from DA to treating this competition very seriously, Wembley etc.. So since it was a reserve match for both sides I will look on the result as meaningless which will not be the case on Saturday.

Agree with Barton Cobblers player reviews. This game just goes to show what a poor squad we have.Odoffin, Powell,Bowditch are dreadful.Waters makes Hoskins look a world beater. Tactically and technically Wycombe reserves was streets in front of us.

Also agree with most of what Barton says. Odoffin and Williams looked out of their depth and nervous all night - both still young though so that's forgivable. I'd be a bit concerned if Williams is a genuine backup at CB though and he'd get destroyed by someone like Norwood. I thought Turnbull actually played well and just wasnt helped by those around him. Same for Barnett - they both dominated in the air too. JJ and McWilliams both looked a yard off the pace but not surprising with the lack of game time. Powell is good when he is on the ball and running at defenders he always looks dangerous but his end product is lacking, off the ball he doesnt have a clue what he's doing, and for a big bloke, he is absolutely powderpuff. He certainly bares the large brunt of my frustration! Waters worked hard and did OK but Williams didn't offer much. Be interesting to see who gets the nod on Saturday - I guess Williams. I disagree a bit on Bowditch though. I'm not his biggest fan but I do think he is one of the very few players in the current squad who can deliver a ball and does have an end product. He'd look significantly better in a winning/confident team as he needs players around him making the right runs and finding space.

Some strange comments about Jay Williams. Certainly don't think he was out of his depth. For a 17 year old I thought he was excellent tonight and looks a great prospect. Very vocal and looked good on the ball. Thought his distribution was much better than Taylor but then that's not hard.

Agree about Jay Williams, for a 17 year old making his first competitive start he looked a great prospect.
