I have been waiting for the player ratings and highlights on the Chronic website but they just haven't turned up. A bit like the team I suppose.

People were saying exactly the same things before Chris Wilder took over as they are now, it’s amazing the transformation that can be achieved by the right manager
What, 4 managers haven’t been able to get the squad to consistently win football matches on a regular basis? I don’t think so?

We are in desperate trouble here . I wanted Austin after all the positive reports I had heard about his coaching and attitude from inside the club . The players also wanted him . Nobody predicted this . It’s a disaster . We are too open and concede far too easily . For someone that is a coach , we seem tactically inept and so many players are playing below themselves . The likes of Taylor ,Pierre , van Veen and JJOT should be well above this standard but are looking completely useless . What’s Todd doing as defensive coach ? KT has gone missing . I don’t see where the change is coming from . Who would be a Northampton Town supporter ? Depressing

We are not in desperate times yet. The bottom 2 are! It’s as depressing as we can make it. Most of the posters are feeling so sorry for themselves. You and the others need to grow a pair. We are all hurting so we are in it together.. So chins up! Big time!

It was really frustrating that Terry Angus called Pierre's sending off 5 mins before it happened. He should have been taking of been taken off as it was clear he had lost his head.
In terms of the performance it was poor overall, Most games this season we have looked competitive and I have been gobsmacked that we did not win. Unfortunately both the Cheltenham and Vale perfomances were not like that.

Well said. It's a shame he hasn't got a link up with our bench during the games that he co-commentates. (that goes for Martin Smith and Sammo as well).

Can I suggest that its not the posters on here but the 11 who go out on the pitch who need to grow a pair, I think our supporters have remarkably tolerant of this bunch of posers. Put the effort in and they will get backed 100% by our crowd.

I think as supporters we have been very patient with this team, we have had a lack of commitment from the players for the last 18 months, I can put up with us being poor as most of us can, but when there appears to be little effort from a lot of the squad over such a prolonged period of time then I think we are entitled to get on their backs. Most of us on here have watched The Cobblers for a lot of years and we have seen teams without ability and have seen us when we have really struggled, but when players don't appear to care or put the effort in, it just gets really depressing.

The summarisers were commenting on Pierre’s positioning and mistimed tackles well before 1st yellow. Not a great loss!

Yr missing the point, of course the team needs to be more competitive; ‘DA needs to kick B/S all week’. Some of us and to certain extent that includes you are guilty of OTT reaction. Some posters on here have not been tolerant and most are wallowing in glorified self pity. This includes me after the Morecambe and Vale games. We have to beef up our support and yes show our displeasure if a player appears to be lacking in grit and determination. Most players react well to ‘strong’ and positive encouragement.

This group of players has shown nothing to suggest that they deserve support from the fans. We tried our best on Saturday but as soon as we let in that pathetic first goal, that was that. This group will never come back from a goal behind because they don't have any character, belief or ability. 100 odd goals conceded in one year and one month by these lot. It's the worst group of players in recent memory.

DA needs to pick a team capable of putting in a steely performance don’t pick any player whose attitude is suspect. For instance Turnbull, Hoskins, Bridges, Taylor, JJOT,Barnett, Buchs,vV, McWilliams and Crooks if given enough kicks up the backside. Maybe it’s time now to try Ward as we nothing to lose. If that team can put in a performance plus a wonder goal ot two from vV we can shock the pundits on here! Yes/No

[/b] FFS. He made the team of the year in this division a little more than 2 years ago. Going back to last week, in one telling incident against Cheltenham he won a difficult header in the box under pressure and was thus off-balance. Buchs was closest to the ball as it dropped and could have easily cleared it but just stood like a statue half-soaked as Pierre had to recover and struggle to make up ground to make a last-ditch clearance. The look of contempt for Buchs on Pierre's face was undeniable. I've seen plenty of incidents like this so far this year, they are not one-offs. Pierre looks increasingly exasperated. Buchs gave the Port Vale player plenty of space to shoot for the first goal. Much like he was kind enough to give Eardley plenty of space to pick his cross for Lincoln's goal in the first game. This is poor defensive play. Perhaps Pierre's 'miss-timed' tackles are simply him getting tight to the forward like a defender should do, much like Facey did for the 'disastrous' free-kick he gave away against Cheltenham, given for getting too-close to the winger after the winger had taken a dive. When did not allowing attacking players time and space on the ball stop being good defending? Neither of Pierre's bookings on Saturday look like fouls, let along bookings. Clear dives. Truly shocking decisions. Still, no great loss and at least we've still got Buchs suspension free though, eh?
