1. Admission - Friday I was told entry to Trust and STH only!! How about non-STHs who are drinking buddies be signed in by noting their seat ticket number down - easy!! Doorman be issued with smiles. See how goes then invite AWAY fans. Put admission rules on door!
What about Under 18 - ie can my 14 year old come in with me or is it strictly over 18

I think they should extend the bar out the front like a conservatory, you could double the size of it relatively cheaply even as a temporary measure.
This ^^ PLUSAllow everyone in, including away fans. The more people you restrict the more money you are turning away. Drop the price of non-alcoholic drinks. A coke should not cost more than a pint of beer. Improve the quality of the drinks. Often they are completely flat. Sort out the stock and have back-up. The amount of times they have run out of alcohol is absolutely criminal, it's a bar! Offer simple meals at reasonable prices that footy fans will want i.e Burger and Chips, Fish and Chips, Curry.

Away bar been held up by red tape but will happen.
That sounds dangerous, surely you'll need an RSJ minimum?

TRADE JOBS Roger, I can't help but think some of the answers are on the sponsors boards around the ground or have they been approached? Jewsons & Travis Perkins (over 10 branches in county) as Builders Merchants will know which of their customers - who are 90% tradesmen - are also Cobblers fans.
Suggest current sponsor T&K precision engineering may have welder or metal worker. Avril's husband Pete Spraggon we know is a techno genius for club already but works in city so I bet he needs a hand?
ME Done finance & stock audits I possibly could do bar work after game (as selling 50/50 before).

To help the bar cope, you could have beer hawkers walking around the bar selling bottles of beer. That's done in the sports bar where I work when there's a large amount of people in for big matches.

Real Ale on tap is inpracticle but bottles of real ale (local micro brewers) along with a couple of decent lagers and cider should suffice. Coffee and tea as an alternative through the winter months. Simple food, QUALITY pies, curry and rolls would suffice. I think if you keep the choice small but quality high it would prove popular. Initially I would make it available to season ticket holders who could sign guests in for 50p and see how it goes in the first two months. I am sure Pauls management will prove a good choice.

.The most important thing is to improve the quality of the beer on sale. I think Carlsberg would be embarrased at the state it was/wasn't being served at seeing they spend millions on getting their products to taste right (just down the road funnily enough) . Can you clarify the terms of the tie in with Carlsberg? Is it just a naming right or do they directly supply? . Carlsberg have a decent range of lagers, beers and Ciders that many people dont know they actually make. It would be great to get in Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Tetleys, one of their Jacobsen range (Saaz Blonde or Bramley WItte) and a cider. Link to Carlsberg brands http://www.carlsberggroup.com/brands/Pages/Default.aspx. In fact I would try and sort out a meeting with Carsberg direct, bring them over to the bar and see what ideas they have. Can't see them being happy with the run down state it has been in and am sure they have money set aside for projects in the brewing towns/cities they operate in. If you get fresh decent beer in and comfort food people will pile in there but the place has to start living up to the Carlsberg billing first and foremost

Does the club make money from the bar or is it franchised out? If the answer is no then this thread is redundant

I used to go in before every home game until our murial went. That was the last straw on top of waiting too long for flat, overpriced beers (or being charged way too much for coke if I was the DD).

The system I'm proposing would never work

In that case you just need decent booze at a price thats right and actually have a door policy that lets people in rather than actively seeks to keep them out. Fast service too. That's about it. Open at 11 as well.

Atlast we have a thread on this, only started to use The Carlsberg bar this season because a few mates go in but the Hungry Horse has far better customer service, drink selection (actually in stock). There's an absolute Killing to be made on finding somewhere for away supporters as i see countless dissapointed faces sent over to the Bowling Ally for pint whilst screaming kids run round there feet. Take a look at Clubs like Walsall, Stevenage even Forest Green where they have reasonable size bar area cheap food (lets be honest footy fans dont do gormet on matchday) and a decent atmosphere. Most supporters at our level get on so dont think it would cost to much in terms of extra security etc either?

There's an absolute Killing to be made on finding somewhere for away supporters as i see countless dissapointed faces sent over to the Bowling Ally for pint whilst screaming kids run round there feet. Quite right, also they use TGIF & F&B! As I've posted numerous times - but always happy to keep telling readers - there is an AWAY bar due from a Rugby League club in a pre-built cargo container style, with tent over it for customers. Will be set against study centre at South stand where palisade fencing will reduce costs of extra security fencing. Red tape is it holding up (although Marvo says will need an RSJ ). Home village on North side very much still on agenda too but in meantime I applaud this move as we're losing loadsa money to neighbours. Although we're being asked for our views (which is always nice) surely it just needs one pub expert to go in to tavern on Saturday between say 1-2.30 and then walk across to the current place on match day and simply compare the two! - easy?. I think idea of mixed bar has opposition from plods??? Any new bar will need a big launch so a free 1st pint of 'Natterjack' bottled Frog Island for me please.

The place is too cramped anf gets packed most games anyhow. I am sure that with a little bit of thought given to the furniture and its siting things could be very much improved. Also provide a barrier so that people queue from each end, I am sure that people dont mind getting served in turn as at Walsall. (It would also mean that they have to move from the immediate bar area once served instead of standing around getting in other peoples way.
As to food there is no room to provide other that snacks although I have always thought that filled rolls would be a good idea.

I like the idea of expanding the bar , but I think that a "conservatory " type building would be too much of a target for the local chavs on non match days so why not build a breezeblock type of structure , out as far as the road , this would be a lot easier to secure and shouldn't cost a fortune to build (See why the club might need tradesmen!)Also the outdoor tables and chairs seems a good idea. Another thought that I've had is £1 off your first drink ,only available before 2 o'clock , Present your match /ST and the staff stamp it ,so you only get the £1 off the first drink, your customers are then in your bar at 2 o'clock so they aren't going to leave to go to another pub at that time are they?
