Not sure if this has been mentioned already but a proper queueing system should be implemented. Me and my mates normally go into the hungry horse pub before the game and trying to get a drink is horrendous, with the bar staff seemingly choosing at random who to serve.

I take it this is a wind up  Grin

It's a pub ffs, man up will you  Roll Eyes

After making enquiries last night I was told that the Carlsberg bar is open to all STH but other supporters WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY unless the bar is packed , which is unlikely for most matches at the moment , the capacity is around the 200 make at the moment.
Please keep your ideas coming and we will hopefully confirm the open forum in the near future

But do the doormen know this !! ?? They've turned away folk even last week as not STHs and defo not packed which I was witness to!!!! Those guys need a smile too.

No, I have to agree with Alex as its not really a pub - with short bar, the damm huge pillar in way and staff not experts at spotting new faces it's frustrating for folk getting a drink.  Me not buying just observing when been in there pre-match chatting (and selling 50/50) and witnessed thr angst. Hope improved with new owners but........

So, if staff can't cope we need the wmc style.

At Hull a few years ago they were serving 1.5 pint glasses. Saves going back so often! Simple. No real costs involved and easy to implement.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Due to capacity the simple fixes are around the price of drinks.
Linked in with the idea of pouring drinks in the back ground, why not do discounts if you buy 4 in one go and provide those cardboard containers. You will then reduce the number of people at the bar and should sell more.
Also offers on beer and a pie.
Pubs dont make much profit on single drinks and they get the profit on volume. I dont think the Carlsberg bar will be able to compete on volume with the others at sixfield so need to look at promotions to bring drink prices down. Unless we get a heavy discount from Carlsberg.

free soft drink for designated driver?

I liked the beer festival idea. You could combine it with stadium tours. Id be up for a tour and a few beers.

I know Paul personally and he should be good for the club. He might need a few reminders / pushes from the Trust from time to time though.

why can't the bar be moved to a larger area (the 'restaurant') and encourage more people to use it with reasonable prices, good food and most improtantly - friendly staff.

Because that room is full of diners who may not want to share it!? Paul has improved quality of food and needs more space to deal with quantity of bookings.

Club have said the Home bar is planned for behind North Stand in time for start next season based on Saints village idea - see you there! Away fans bar will be behind South stand. Police not keen on mixing I beleive.

To Paul & Barton Cobbler .... please also see new thread entitled "Paul's plans for the future".

Do our topic headings need to be a bit clearer on subject matter to avoid duplications like this?
