I was quite pleased the Cobblers were away yesterday as it meant I could watch all the games on T20 finals day, which was won by Worcestershire, a team none of the cricket 'experts' had tipped to win. Most went for Sussex or Lancs with just Marcus Trescothick going for Somerset - no surprise there as he plays for them in red ball cricket.

It was as always a cracking day and won by a team from the North group for the 6th successive year ever since 2013 when the County won it for the first time.

I remember that day in 2013, the County were playing Essex in the first match and they were interviewing Ravi Bopara on the field while the County were batting, the conversation going something like this ' Ravi do you think you'll win ?' , 'Yes we'll win this the South group are much stronger than the North group'. The County went on to beat Essex and then totally demolish Surrey in the final with David Willey (remember him - he used to be ours) being named man of the match. Up yours Ravi - the North have dominated the competition ever since. In 2016 when the County beat Durham in the final all 4 finalists were from the North group. Pity the County have gone to pieces since.

Anyway well done Worcs another team like the County and Leics who are unfancied.

Yes, been abroad so didn't see. Have been to the last three Finals Day with County. Thought this year was a refreshing mix - Lancs apart! Personally, would have liked Somerset to win. Remember Finals Day a few years back (when losing to Lancs) a guy and his daughter ( she was something else!  Tongue) from Bath and Somerset fans but supporting us while we demolished the Bears!

I was actually at Northampton watching the Australia tour game during the 2013 finals day. A cold and windy day so along with many others we were watching the game on TV at the club. Then watched the final in the Crown & Cushion and the landlord provided some champagne when we won. Things looked bleak at one point in that semi final before Crook saw us home. I think the Cobblers might have been playing at Southend that day.

I was at a friends wedding during the 2015 finals day. In fact, it caused me to be late for the wedding and my late arrival was subsequently captured by the camera man.

I finally managed to attend a Finals Day in 2016. One of the best days of my life. Semi finals win, then into Birmingham for the afternoon before heading back to watch us win the final followed by a night out celebrating on Broad Street.

Northants look a long way away from those dizzy heights
