Well, we certainly showed them didn't we? We don't need a defensive midfielder against Morecambe, they're s***! What a fcuking dreadful performance. Our central defence is diabolical. To those wankers laying the blame solely on Dunny, Tozer and Beckwith are the most overrated central defensive pairing I've seen in town shirts. Every club in this division has worked out that by pumping long balls over the top guarantees goals against our flat footed twosome, dumb and dumber. I hate to say it, I'm begininning to finally believe that Sammo isn't the man for the job. Truly shocking performance

I fully retract my suggestion that Jacobs and Walker would make a decent central midfield pairing.
It's not your fault, It's fcuking Sammo's

Marcus Hall was worse than the rest of the defence put together.. solely responsible for 2 of the goals

His tactical decisions can be called in to call, but I'm not sure his summary or perception of the game can.
As well as his selective memory disorder? They had a couple of good chances before we even scored, and I thought caused us trouble all night.I was really impressed by their 18, Hurst, hardly a wasted pass all night.

He was our best player during the first half, I couldn't make out who exactly was responsible for the last 2 goals from where I was sitting in the West Stand

I thought the 3rd goal looked like an own goal but even if it wasn't it was Hall's fault and the 2nd goal was a free header scored by a player Hall should have been marking

Today's results are in... Northampton 3-3 Morecambe Me and Armchair 1-0 Patronising Football Geniuses of the Hotel End Seriously, my heart sank when I saw that line-up, it was so predictable what would happen. Neither Walker nor Jacobs offered any protection to the back-line, and both of them pushed too far forward, leaving a gaping space between midfield and defence. So, when Dunn started to look like he had the jitters, Morecambe sensed weakness and piled the pressure on, bypassing the midfield with ease and pushing straight on to Tozer and Beckwith again and again. We were always going to score goals with 6 attacking players in the line up, but we were always going to concede them with absolutely no protection afforded to the defence for the vast majority of the game. Bringing a clearly unfit Wedderburn on did little to sort the problem out. I do hope we put a defensive player in central midfield on Saturday, even if that means playing Holt or Johnson out of position. Wedderburn would be the obvious option but unless he sheds about a stone by Saturday, I personally wouldn't play him, not from the start anyway.

I'll await the video highlights, but Johnson was in part at fault because both crosses came in from the leftwing. I'm not convinced by him as a defender.

I'd start Wedders, he looked unfit, sure, but so did Holt and johnson.

Wedders barely left the centre circle when he came on. I actually thought he was Bayo during the half time warm up and had to do a double take. Maybe we've found the answer to our targetman worries.

I know it's a well-trodden path but does anyone know why we bring everybody back for every corner? Would like to see someone left upfield to provide an outlet should we get the ball from the corner.

I agree, Johnson has been poor in the two games prior to his injury. He was ok in the first half, in the second he was shocking at times. There appears to be a handful of players that fans love to blame. The untouchables such as Tozer and Beckwith rarely get a mention

From where I was sat in the North Stand (4th row back directly behind the incident) Hall was shoved in the back at just the right moment to cause him to bundle the ball into the net on the third goal. Perhaps the tv highlights will clarify this later.

I thought he was shoved in the back too but the reaction of the players make me think he probably wasn't

Your very own scapegoats? I concur with your earlier post, namely that Sammo has to carry the can for tonight's performance as he does for what has been a pretty shambolic season. The question I would now ask is, assuming that we're unlikely to make the play offs or heaven forbid be relegated, should Sammo be given one more season? If tonight's attendance (after four games without defeat) becomes a trend then DC's budget will once again under threat and the financial reality may force his hand, though I'd personally bet on Sammo still being here in August.

No insider, becuase unlike others I have never openly abused an NTFC player at Sixfields, The County Ground or away from home. I just think it's about time people realised that they are to blame above others. It always seems that it's either Dunny or the full backs at fault. I thought the Barnet performance was more down to the weather conditions than anything. Tonight? Professional footballers should be able to cope with a bit of rain. I'm now having serious doubts as to whether Sammo is the man to take our club forward. With the players at his disposal, what happened tonight was totally unacceptable

Sammo post-match was spot on. You can't blame him for decent players playing poorly. With the likes of Wedderburn and Holt not fit enough to start his options were limited. Thornton, for all his good touches, is not fit, and Davis is returning from a lay off. We were lucky to get a point. But none of this IMHO is Sammo's fault.
