A second consecutive home 0-0 on the cards then. That can't have happened for years!

4 games without a goal, and over a month since the last goal from open play.
How desperately we need a finisher!

How many chances have been created during that time?

Hoskins alone must have missed 5 or 6 1 on 1s

Have we ever had a less inspiring front 4 than when tonight we had Hoskins/Williams/Bowditch/Waters?

I don't think so.

Nothing to do with Keith Curle but that was dire . Division 2 tripe . No quality on view at all and no one with the ability to make the difference . Interesting that Powell and Waters used as wing backs but we may well get exposed there going forward . Loads of work to do . Van Veen should have come on 20 minutes before he did . Foley MOM. Adams best player on pitch .

Despite a poor showing from our fans, we still had the second-highest home attendence of any League Two side this evening.

He missed that many against Lincoln alone.

Positives:
1. Only the second clean sheet this season 2. 3-5-2 makes a lot of sense. We have decent central midfielders and putting Barnett, Pierre and Taylor in at least means there is always a spare man. It also means we can play two up top without sacrificing midfield strength.
The lack of a natural left sided wingback is an issue, though. I'll be shot for saying this but I actually think it's time to recall Bunney - at least he can cross a ball and he's a more natural wingback than anyone else in the squad.

Some brief points following a watch on IFollow;
1. Bowditch should have been sent off and then lost his man just outside our box who ought to have at least got his shot off on target. 2. The distribution of all 3 Central Defenders and Cornell was mediocre. I presume the build up play from the back is abandoned. 3. Hoskins not a natural finisher. 4. Crooks and O'Toole stood out as being decent. 5. Glass half empty for me. We are mediocre. Why did we look so lethargic in the 2nd half and why do we take so long to take throw ins invariably using Central Defenders to walk to the touch line to take them thus losing any momentum and allowing the opposing side to mark up ?
