That was Austin .....
Do you think so? I think Mick is a totally different kind of manager myself.

A valid point, but on the flip side we can point out that if they're successful it's far easier for them to move to a better club as Wilder did.
True but I can't see someone like Bowyer (if that is the kind of manager we would be looking at) going for a 12 month rolling contract. As for Austin I do hope he gets another job quickly but didn't he come to us after quite a long spell of not having a coaching job?

Think the fact Austin was picking Hoskins and Taylor suggests he did take nonsense.

Might have been young. But wasn't on the way up I would suggest that assistant coach, to full time manager, was on the way up...

I bet there's a very good chance that they will both play again on Tuesday.

Quite like Micky Mellon but I suspect prising him from Tranmere would be quite difficult. Bowyer is a decent option.

Steve cotterill? I've no idea what happened towards the end of his spell at Birmingham but he hasn't a bad track record.

I'm guessing that this leads us to Bowyer - I've no idea if he is a disciplinarian or not and it would depend on whether he wants to go from working under Oyston at Blackpool to working for us with the ownership as it is. Another thing we need to avoid is the gimmick, young, foreign manager/coach that is in vogue.
Yep, Bowyer is definitely my first choice. - Experienced at L2 level and achieved a successful consolidation in L1 - League Two promotion having taken over a side undergoing a massive downward spiral - Achieved success despite off-field uncertainty He ticks all the boxes for me.

Here we go again then. Will it be any better this time, unless we strike lucky I doubt it.
People are saying about not having this and not having that. Our most successful managers in the last 30 or so years...Carr (came from non-league), Calderwood (from coaching - no managerial experience) and Wilder (taken from another club). That is why it is more luck than judgement on managerial appointments. Good luck to who ever is choosing the next one.

Dean was too nice. He knows that now to his cost. We need someone who isn't very nice when he/she needs to be.

It is possible that DA decided after a chat with KT that he no longer wanted the job. I don’t see the reason for sacking him. Yes, we lost 4-0 but he came out challenging the application of the players. Some say that mash have been the nail in his coffin...but I don’t see that. He wasn’t convinced that he wanted the jobinthe first place...so perhaps he has decided that turning it around is probably more difficult than he thought.

I was wondering if he walked having accepted an offer of some kind.

Would be happy if we manage to get hold of either John Coleman or Keith Hill. Despite the Oxford rivalry Appleton would be good however probably out of our league now

With all due respect why would a manager currently at a club in a higher league want to come to us?

FFS! I’d be very happy with Coleman or Hill too, but we have got absolutely no chance. Can’t see any reason whatsoever for Bowyer wanting to come here either.
