I couldn't give a toss about his comments about us in the past, they just made him look silly rather than causing any offence.
I still think it's a crappy appointment though, purely because I don't rate him as a manager. At all.
I can't believe he's the best option we have when a heavy hitter like Gary Johnson is currently available...

A not massively inspiring appointment but still a more positive one than those of Page, JED and Austin IMO, on paper at least.
His record overall is pretty decent so I feel optimistic he'll steady the ship at the very least.
Welcome to the club Keith.

What a laughing stock Northampton Town FC are !
Is that the best you could do Kelvin !
I hope our Head of Recruitment wasn't involved. He has been amazing.

The appointment doesn't make me feel any more or less apathetic about the cobblers at the moment. But looking at this objectively, he did turn around Carlisle (which was his most recent job) and possibly could have took them up had their owners backed some more. Give him a chance, he surely can't be any worse than his predecessors.

Not that managers have ever proven to deliver what their CV says, but this bloke in my eyes is the least inspiring choice of manager I can ever recall. At least some of the other idiots (at the time of their appointment) brought some excitement, a little hope if you like. But this guy is mediocre all over.
At a time where we have pretty much hit rock bottom moral wise (within the support), KT has somehow managed to make things even worse. Im not even going to try and gloss over this appointment...its a rubbish one. Im gutted. It shows where we currently are, if we didn't know already. A league2 football club trying to scrap our way to survival with a bog standard, league2 journeyman manager. With no intention of sorting any of the off the pitch issues out anytime soon.
This.

I know you said in your opinion but I genuinely believe there would have been widespread outcry if Curle had been appointed instead of any of those three. There wont be as much now because we look like we might drop to non league, if he was appointed when we were a League One club.....well. Don't get me wrong I wasn't overly enthused by those either just for the record. Not inspired, excited or uplifted by it in the slightest but he's here now so I'm fully behind him and I hope he does well for us.

How many times do you have to say the same thing Abington? We understand, you're not happy with the appointment.

He's only got till the end of the season. New owners might well make a change at that time - if not before if necessary. Of course he might surprise a few people and be rewarded with a contract beyond this season. Looks good that he is taking over immediately rather than shirk away until after the tricky game tomorrow night.
Good luck Keith and Colin.

Is it too late to get Austin back? What an uninspiring, unimaginative appointment - whoever Kelvin is getting his footballing advice from (Carr, Melville, wilder?) is having a laugh. I’m just clinging onto the scrap of hope from the feedback of the Carlisle fans earlier in the thread plus when you look at his career win percentage it isn’t that different to bowyer to be honest. The proof will be in the pudding I suppose and if things don’t pick up we know who to aim the dissent at.

I stand corrected. I was going on the KT interview, from only this morning, where he said about bringing a manager in until the end of this season. I would think that KC has negotiated that as KT was quite clear about giving the new manager a short-term contract.

I think its a good appointment. Contract until the end of Next season, if he wants to extend the contract he needs to get results. Has shown he can keep a club up and I dont think he will take the Crap from the players.
KT has been sensible with a shorter term contract, less to pay off if it doesnt work.
Keith is worth the risk as others have said it couldnt get much worse.
