It’s a safe choice by KT who basically wants someone to steady the ship and steer us to mid table as he desperately tries to find someone interested in the club for about £2 mill.
Curle will upset some people and I don’t like his demeanour but let’s just get on with a season of climbing up to half way , having a cheer , having a moan , watching average players and going for a pint on a Saturday .
Back to being a normal Cobblers supporter .

I remember many years ago being underwhelmed with the appointment of Ian Atkins at a time when we were struggling in the basement division.  The rest is history in terms of his huge achievement in taking us to one match from the Championship.  So a note of caution to all those expressing disappointment at the latest appointment.  You never know.

As for KT holding out for £2m according to Boot & Shoe I very much doubt KT will fetch anything remotely near that figure.  There is the small matter of the wreck called the East Stand, a wage bill to inherit that has to be unsustainable at L2 level and yet another managerial debt on the balance sheet (at least 3 currently).  More like £1.00 which would be ironic since that is what the present owners paid for the Cardozas' shares.  Yes, I know the KT group settled the HMRC debt (£160,000 or thereabouts).

I think it’s a good appointment. Carlisle were referred to as Kamikaze Carlisle due to their high scoring games all the time but he did well there on a limited budget

I reckon Curle and Thomas probably had conversations in the summer and he was always in mind for the job if Austin failed

Remember the reaction when Wilder was appointmedvwas fairly Luke warm....

3-5-2

Teams played it out neatly from the back when they came to Sixfields.....sadly Taylor can’t kick a football so might not be as successful here.

I wish Curle all the best and most of all good luck.  I am not surprised at DA's demise especially after Saturday.

My impression of Curle has always been that he is a totally sh*t bloke. I’m not impressed by the appointment based mostly on my perception of his character.

However, a bit of research and I’m starting to see some positives to the appointment.
I think those hoping the players get a stiff kick up the arse might not be disappointed. I’m not sure it’ll be an easy ride for them and I can’t imagine the likes of Van Veen will last long in this regime.

He could have just took the easy option & had a watching brief for tomorrow nights game...

Good to see him wanting to get stuck in straight away & try to have an immediate impact.

No doubt some of our bell fans will want him out if we lose tomorrow night even though he would have had little time to implement anything  Roll Eyes

Good luck Keith and looking forward to your first interview.

Apart from the fact he had a bit of a go at us I think he is a manager with a good track record at this level, if not totally unblemished. However, now he has agreed to manage this squad, from a footballing perspective his decision making is already proven to be woeful. I mean what decent manager worth his salt would want to place his professional reputation in the hands of this lot? Ladies and gentleman, I give you Mr Keith Curle.

Win percentage at their Last two jobs in the FL before joining :
Wilder 41.5 %
Page 37.5%
Edinburgh 39%
JFH 44% (27% at QPR)
Curle 41.7%

Other than JFH who's record was hugely inflated by taking over a successful Burton team. HE has the best record in his last two league jobs out of our last 5 managers.

Wilders record is also inflated by his time in non-league with Oxford.

Curles last two jobs: Played 258, won 102. That's a win % of 39.5% not 41.7%. I imagine your other figures are made up as well.

I literally took their last two League job stats on Wikipedia and divided them by two to get an average.
