Not surprised to hear Mark Cooper was yellow carded today for abuse, always had a lot to say for himself and like his old man has a permanent chip on his shoulder. His time wasting tactics today straight from the Elland Rd school of football science boredom and with 7 minutes plus of injury time he got his just desserts today.

Goal per game at Kettering though. Can't deny that to the upstart!

To be fair he was pretty gracious in his post match interview - it’s a shame he and his coaching team were such cu**s during the entire game though.

Really? We didn’t get near them first half. Strange comment.

Maybe I should have said "sends" rather than "sets". I've no issue with the formation or playing style he chooses, that's his business, but I object to the way he has clearly instructed his players to time waste, delay, dive and obstruct at every opportunity. I might be doing him a disservice and he's just been unlucky to find himself surrounded by an entire squad of players and a coaching staff who all just happen to be cheating c***s, but somehow I think that's unlikely.

Cooper implied his team were the better footballing side . We were playing that way and not winning . I’m afraid in division 2 , you have to be direct and force mistakes . You need exceptional players if you are going to football your way out of that division and we haven’t got them

I thought they played some nice stuff in the first half - especially their number 8 Grubb who they picked up from Weston Super Mare (there are some gems out there) - and they were on a long unbeaten run so I think whatever they do has been working. They must have been pretty useful with doidge in the side. Interestingly they lost their way when they stopped trying to play and resorted to the dark arts - perhaps there’s a moral there somewhere.

Game management is an essential part of winning games, it's not cheating or time wasting. The Rovers from the green forest will be in the end of season play offs.

They played a little bit of neat and tidy passing in the first half without, which was a scrappy affair and which they probably just edged overall, but I didn't think they were particularly brilliant and notwithstanding the legitimacy of their goal being in question it was poor goalkeeping which largely gifted it to them. In the second we outplayed them and should have scored more. Make no mistake, the wind played a significant part in the outcome of the two halves of football yesterday, but when we had the advantage we were much better than when they had it in the 1st. I think we have got the players to 'football' our way out of the division myself.

When a team resorts to 'the dark arts' it is usually because they know they are up against it. The amount of time-wasting they were up to yesterday was a sign of desperation more than anything. We had their number and they knew it. IMO if they had played the second half sans dark arts we would have just scored earlier.

Nah, it's cheating. Call it what it is. The 'game management' term is all pretty Orwellian. I remember it used to be considered time-wasting and frowned upon to try and keep the ball near the corner flag, now all sorts of cheating is more or less praised. In the last 20 minutes yesterday the ball was inactive for at least 5 and possibly as much as 7-8 minutes, almost entirely due to their 'game management'. How admirable. I'm confident we will finish above them this season.

They seemed to be more interested in keeping their little unbeaten run going than trying to win the match at times

Cooper should be embarrassed. His team were cheats and negative. As for the wind it was the same for both teams

Especially the bit about how he was trying to stop Van Veen from getting sent off as he had their player in a headlock - complete and utter bollox.

I think they almost eclipsed Lincoln in the cheating department. Or maybe not. Quite. On a par! The funniest bit of cheating...or worst depending on which way you look at it...was around the 75th minute. The ball went out of play for a goal kick and one of their outfield players as well as the keeper both went down 'injured' simultaneously. The keeper appeared to have cramp. Now it was, what, 21 degrees? A professional athlete, playing in goal. So hadn't needed to run or do anything too strenuous. Goes down with cramp! I said to my mate at the time, I wonder if he crumples to a heap randomly when he's out shopping! I was absolutely staggered..and impressed...that the cheating time had been added. Well it probably should of been 8 or 9 minutes, but normally its a standard 4 minutes max (or 3 minutes if nothings happened other than subs). So fair play to the officials who did at least add some of it. Which of course gave us the time to find a winner. For that last 30 minutes, they literally tried to stop the game at every single opportunity. To a large part it worked, and put us off of our stride. BUT. That 'tactic' just sends out a message to the opposition that they can attack at will because they have no interest in pushing forwards themselves. I can never understand the approach, but hey ho.. It did seem like they were just desperate to keep their unbeaten run going. At all costs. Perhaps now they will play with more freedom again. Mark Coopers done a decent job there and they did play good football in the first half. They definitely got what they deserved on Saturday though!

Cooper wanted the opportunity to speak to his team when they came over for the drinks.
