WR Leigh, for those of you interested cowboys!  Smiley

Let's not get carried away, just yet.

We have a manager (Curley-Cobblers, I bow in respect), who is still learning about the squad, who is prepared to make the opposition counter us by shuffling the pack & formation (how long since that happened?), and who can get the best from the players that want to play.

Oldham will come to frustrate us.

We need to hve on the pitch, the right mix of players on the day, who can get in their faces, as well as players who can skip round their posturing.

It may not be pretty on Saturday.  But, whatever the result, Curley-Cobblers will learn very much more about this squad - which will help us in the weeks to come.

I am happy to trade a result on Saturday, for longer-term success.

Therefore, I will be happy with a scrappy 1-1.

It’s important to get the mindset right for Saturday.  You frequently see many teams that have just handed out a thrashing lose their next game (just as Colchester did against us). Perhaps it’s an ‘after the Lord Mayors show’ effect.  Plus Oldham play better away this season and are unbeaten on the road.

Funny how JFH was called tinkerman for changing the team every game but KC is a tactical genius.

I will explain why. The big difference is Jimmy did it for changes sake but Curle does it for the good of the team and for the BEST way of hurting the opposition. He said this after yesterday's game.

I bet nobody can select what he will do this Saturday. Will he go back to 3 at the back, or will he stick with 4 at the back? If we don't know, how do the opposition know. He doesn't even like to speak about when injured players will return to fitness.

He certainly is Mysterious Curle and he's doing great.

I think JFH tried to put too much focus on the opposition instead of taking the game to them.

I don't expect too many changes for Saturday:

                  Cornell

McWilliams - Turnbull - Pierre - Buchanan

              O'Toole - Foley
Crooks                            Bridge

             Powell  - Van Veen

I thought Williams had a good game last night. Wouldn't be surprised if he kept his place in the starting eleven.

It just shows that contrary to what some may think there is some depth to the squad.

On the back of a huge win, and back at sixfields, I think its time Pollock at least made the squad. The lad seems to score multiple goals every single game since we signed him. Poggys starting 11 would currently be my choice too.

KC sees him in training regularly and obviously thinks he is not ready yet. What have you seen of him Wolvo to come to your conclusion?

The point I'm making is fans regularly say such and such a youth player should be given a chance. The professional coaches will know when they are ready, but cast your mind back over the last 3 years and how many potential first teamers have not progressed through the youth, here or elsewhere.

Have the faith and maybe see them in the FA youth cup at Sixfields against Kings Lynn Youth!

To be fair, I see more social media posts from our club on Pollock than on our first 11. Their fault for building him up!

I know, I've never known a youth teamer to score so many goals literally every single match.

For the record, that's the first youth teamer I've ever called for... And I haven't even called for him to start  Grin

He was fortunate with his two footed 'tackle' but he'll learn...

Coincidence that we started to score goals for fun when Hoskins is not in the team? In my book he is an impact player from the bench, nothing more nothing less, his score stats over the last few seasons prove this.
