First ever away game was Crewe. A bank holiday Monday back in April 83. Lost 1-0. Att: 2,197 (Around 30 Cobblers - as per norm then)...NTFC cap nicked and a smack in the mush after...hooked ever since!

Being from Nantwich and having lived in Cheshire for my very early years my first three or four professional games watched were all Crewe v Northampton or Northampton v Crewe games when my Grandad would take me to the footy.
always have a soft spot for my "home town team"
We've only lost two of the last 8 games against them, but before that they were a bogey side as we failed to beat them in 12 games (1991-2008)

Nantwich hey? My wife hails from Tarporley, Cheshire. Do you know it? Her Dad still lives there so we visit the area. Been to Nantwich a few times. Nice small town. They're not so keen on "spewey Crewey"! They prefer Chester.

That 3-3 draw at Gresty Road in 2003, honestly one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen, could have ended anything to anyone.
I remember briefly thinking that Brent Rahim was going to be a million-pound superstar.
And Terry Fenwick might just make a decent football manager.

No, I left Nantwich a couple of months after being born, lived in Sandbach until I was 8, then a year in Barnton near Northwich before moving down to Northampton.

There was a brilliant moment at the end of that game as the two sets of supporters came face to face as they poured out of their respective gates - and spontaneously applauded each other!
