Anyone getting excited yet?
I thought not!
Anyway, our last Cup Competition is reaching the end of the group stages, and we of course have qualified for the next round, finishing runners up in Group F.
This means that we will face one of the winners of Groups A-D and will be away from home in the next round
Portsmouth won Group A with a 100% record, Cambridge are in pole position in Group B and will win the group unless Southend win by 5 goals or more against Southampton U21's tonight. Chelsea U21's have won group C on goal difference and Exeter have won Group D.
So we did Portsmouth last season, we go to Cambridge often enough and we are playing at Exeter this Saturday......that leaves Chelsea!! And yes, the ruling that the invited teams play all their games away only applies in the group stage so being drawn away at Chelsea means potentially a trip to Stamford Bridge. They played Oxford at home last season in front of 2,643 (1,073 of them Oxford fans)

Ties to be played week commencing 3 Dec. Only the older element amongst us (beyond me) will have seen us at Stamford Bridge previously? Might struggle for tickets?

Lol.....struggle? Only two competitive games ever between Chelsea and Northampton, on 27th and 28th December 1965, they won 3-2 at the County Ground and then 1-0 at Stamford Bridge the next day.

It will be nauseating if all the happy clapper day trippers come out of the woodwork to go to Stamford Bridge.

Hoping for an away tie, preferably not against the winners of our previous group!

Struggle for tickets? When Oxford Utd played there last season (same competition) the entire attendance that night was 4000!

All u21 teams have to use their senior aides registered grounds...unless they apply for special exemption from the football league. Swansea played st the Liberty last season, as did Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge.
