Am out for a number of weeks; just come out of operation theatre. These Opium painkillers are top notch. Now see why the the druggies take ‘em. Fantastic high for 2/3 hours. Must try again! Perhaps I could persuade the nurse to give me a few for Glasto,Man04, certainly Clarkie You been suffering with bulls***itus again nevers?? Didn't realise the operated on the NHS for that these days! 😉😅 Hope it's nothing too serious

My five day stay for a routine bypass op, turned into more than a six week stay, after my new arteries collapsed. I was effectively dead for more than four minute before being revived. The warm glow of Vicodin, and the occasional soft touch from a nurse were the only comfort.

I don't know cheerful TBF It was very hypocritical of me to dampen the mood, I'm the first to whinge at negativity It would be amazing to have a group of 5-6 young players come through over a couple of years. I see this as the only way we would sustain division three football. Go up , consolidate, have young assets would demand a fee allowing us to strengthen and replace with equal ability. Rather than have an old head leave on a free or retire and then be scraping around with peanuts to find a replacement.

We do seem to have a good crop of youngsters coming through, lets hope that they all breakthrough and become first team regulars in years to come. Crewe are the best known exponents of bringing youth through, indeed last season there were times that their entire starting line up was made of home grown players. Their production line has kept them afloat and when working well led to a prolonged stay in League 1. For a so-called little team they punched well above their weight. I'm glad we have a good setup emerging, and the boys have a fantastic coach in Jon Brady to bring them through. All looks good for the future.

Just a shame the odds are stacked against us producing another youth team like this. The big clubs will be all over our youth set up and able to take the best under EPPP.
The younger McWilliams are already at Villa. It will take some brave Npton parents do resist the glitz of the Premier League academies and say my lad has more of a chance at Cobblers.
The issue is how we integrate so many youngsters at the same time without an under 21 side . It’s a pity we don’t have a connection with a conference side to blood them properly . The crop coming through next year isn’t as good though and so we need to make the most of these lads . It’s a pity the next round is not at home in the mid week .

Agreed it was amazing the effect a year in the conference had on Bradley Johnson.

Having a quick look at Arsenal U18s, and it turns out that their coach, is Ken Gillard, best remembered for getting sent off at Scunny, when they put seven past us. arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2018/10/22/ken-gillard-replaces-kwame-ampadu-as-arsenal-u18s-coach/

Just because the younger McWilliams are at Villa doesn't mean they'll stay there. As a younger player, Cam was there and Jay was at Coventry.
Some good lads in the 1st year youths - including MoM the other night - but not the strength in depth of the 2nd years. Some good players in the U15s and U16s so future looks good with an improved pathway. Be interesting to learn what the new academy head brings to the table. Maybe he has contacts with clubs that can give our lads experience at senior level?
Shame Arsenal aren't coming to PTS. Let's not forget the Alliance Cup. If we can get past Exeter in the semi then a final awaits against either Cambridge or Southend. Would be nice to see these lads get some silverware. Okay, getting ahead of myself. Luton tomorrow... one game at a time and all that.

I don't recall the sending off but I do recall Steve Sherwood being in goal and not being very good! We had beaten Mansfield 5-1 on the previous Tuesday where Steve Terry scored with an audacious chip. We thought we'd cracked it only to get the Scunny hammering.

Hope we take a few to this. 2 decent youth sides going toe to toe on equal terms. No B teams. As it should be.
