I would like it if we can keep Crooks and Van Veen, but think we may lose at least one of them, as regards the other high earners I wouldn't be to bothered at losing any of them as long as some of the money freed up can be used to bring players in.
I would be doing everything possible to keep hold of Crooks, Van Veen & Pierre and definitely wouldn’t let them leave on the cheap, anyone else can go though and I would be actively trying to trim some of the experienced fringe players.

IMO every player in this squad is replaceable. As others have said the 3 you would keep hold of would be Pierre, Crooks and VV (you'd add O'Toole to that list before this year but his been dreadful). But even those 3 are very inconsistent and play when they feel like it (especially in VV and Crooks case). I wouldn't be mortified if any of them left and would trust curle to find upgrades even on a lower budget.

Wow you trust KC to find upgrades on our 3 best players! If it’s that easy a couple of transfer windows and we will surely be champions.

I say this because they are so inconsistent, mainly down to lack of intrest some of the time. For every champagne macvlesfield performance from crooks for example there are 5 or 6 below average where he can't really be bothered to track back. I'm not saying replacing them would be easy, but someone like exeter Nicky Law would be far more and I would hazard a guess on a fraction of Crooks's wages. Not an easy job, but these people are not half as indespencable as some of you make out. As listening to curle I have confidence in the fact he knows what he wants and will do his best to deliver.

Most players at virtually all teams at this level are 'replaceable' IMO yet I don't disagree with Crooks, VV and Pierre being the players you'd be most disappointed to see leave. I'd still like to see a GK, LB and winger come in as I've always maintained they are out weakest positions. My mind has only been changed recently on the CM as on the basis of JJOT's and McWilliams current form I would say a signing there wouldn't go amiss either. Obviously due to Barnett's retirement we are now a CB short also. Bringing in these number of players (5), with 4-5 out of the door seems a reasonable target over the window and would make the world of difference to the team and squad. I'd be happy if Bowditch, Powell and Taylor could all be offloaded (even as a loan to free up wages) as I reckon (just guessing) their wages to important contribution ratio must be at about the greatest disparity.

Id be disappointed if Turbull left TBH, he is far and away our best defender and he can actually pass the ball. We need to keep hold of KVV, Crooks, Turnbull and Pierre. We desperately need a GK to challenge Dia a left back with a bit of pace, a winger and most important of all for me a ball winning Center mid who can pass.

Agreed - as with the summer we could desperately do with jettisoning some of the squad players like bowditch, waters, kasim, coddington etc that might enable us to keep the decent players like van veen, crooks and Pierre but as we've said before who is likely to take them off our hands? I wonder if another factor in curle constantly rotating the squad is to keep all fringe players fit so they are more marketable.

I think we should get rid of as many as possible of the current squad but if it couldn't happen pre-season I doubt it could happen now. This squad got us where we are now. Even the most competent of this lot are tainted and need to move on.

When choosing a name for yourself on here I bet you didn't have to think very long did you?

I’d imagine the likes of van veen, crooks and Pierre will leave to balance the books and be replaced by cheaper options more in line with league two wages.

If by the end of January we are in a playoff position maybe that would affect the players or the clubs decision? Could we close the eight point gap within nine L2 games?

I would think / hope that we wont do anything to balance the books this january and agree with players such as the above that the club wont stand in there way in the summer if someone comes in and we havent been promoted. Maybe increase their promotion bonus to persuade them.

The transfer window will be a good indicator to the future My opinion/guess is that the book balancing will take priority It appears the KT experiment regards the land acquisition is at stalemate and the board are still incurring costs They haven’t got planning permission to build anything on the land(whether it’s to the clubs benefit or not) and my guess is we will have a spate of DC style cost cutting and book balancing just like we had for ages until he managed to acquire the council loan.
With no one meeting the boards valuation of the club(does this include the land) I can’t see KT pumping in money now the attraction is wearing off.
Let’s hope I’m very wrong and quality signings are made in jan rather than the selling of playing assets to recoup expenditure.
We won’t have long to find out.

I also think this . The only thing is that some of the players won’t get the level if wages elsewhere . Crooks is probably the only player that could . This was the problem in the summer and nothing has changed since .

A couple of quality signings. Maybe a player or two - running down contracts - out on loan.

I think Ward will have his loan cancelled and Coddington (as with yesterday's game) or Goff will be the number 2 keeper. We don't need 4 goalkeepers. Kasim will also leave on loan or have his contract cancelled so he can sign elsewhere.

How do u know spaces are being made? Teams are certainly watching some of our players, Benji was scouting us for Southend yesterday.

Id like to see us 'pay off' anybody who is not involved in the team and is out of contract next summer. So thats Kasim gone.
Next up would be getting shot of players theres zero chance of us keeping come the summer. Bowditch would be the first in that queue, despite yesterdays mom performance. Waters would be next on the list.
Id try and get Joe Bunney back (is that possible?) to play wing back when we play the wing back formation.
If a decent winger is available to take long term, Id like that to happen. Same with a midfield enforcer.
If we got an offer for Williams Id take it and spend the money on another striker, even if its a loan one to see us through the season. Theres no room in the squad for him and KVV. Its probably more likely though that KVV will be the one to go, but his wages may put off any suitor.
Tweak things basically, see the season out. Unless we get new owners in of course, with money on the hip!
