Northamptonshire has been rocking in anticipation of Tuesday's game at Cambridge............not!

BUT it is still an opportunity for KC to evolve the team.
Therefore I hope Hoskins, Taylor and JJ are left out and younger players given a chance to gain experience.

I suggest;

                  Ward

Facey, Turnbull, Pierre, Buchanan,

     McWilliams, Foley, Roberts

                    Crooks (if fit)

                 Williams, Van Vein

That team selection is not exactly giving the youngsters a chance.

The omission of Jay Williams is surprising. Surely he has to start this game?

Ward, Roberts, Facey and McWilliams........FOUR youngsters is not bad and gives balance. Jay Williams is steady but I feel you still need enough older players to look after them.

Frank where is this noble spirit of yours gone - or is it because you find the thread title un-nerving?

I like the title but the contents are not very well thought through. BBS wants younger players to get a chance and I agree with that sentiment but naming just one under 20 years of age contradicts somewhat.

Too early for you to make this trip I would assume? I hope be attending some away games in the new year so ensure you are on your guard Smiley

I wonder what the Carlisle contingent of the Hotel End think about this fixture?  I await their input with interest.

As youth team players are being mentioned I would suggest 'the big one' is our U18s versus MK Dons U18s [12pm kick-off]. If we win and Stevenage draw against Southend, we will be champions.

Minutes?

I would hope he stays on for at least an hour before getting injured or sent off Smiley You're probably right though.

I am not promoting another witch hunt and as I’ve said before I actually think he’s ok, but is anyone out there a current advocate for Taylor being in the side? I hope Curlio is not going to go on another “I know better than the supporters” crusade. That’s been the beginning of the end for most of our managers of late. I feel terrible saying it because I can’t actually put my finger on what’s wrong with the bloke. All I know is every time he is in the side we look ponderous and vulnerable and it’s happened too often to be coincidence surely?

I think the problem with Taylor is probably more due to us than him. I thought he was good for us last year and on occasions I'd go so far as to say he was outstanding. The thing is, last year our expectations were very low for most of the season; we went into games expecting to be under the cosh for 90 minutes and in most cases were just aiming to hang onto a point or hoping to nick 3 from a set piece or stroke of luck. In those circumstances, you are happy to have a player like Taylor who puts his body on the line, throws himself into challenges and cheerfully hacks the ball away down the other end of the field at every opportunity. It buys you a few moments respite!

This year we have higher expectations and go into games looking to win them and, more significantly, to control them. This is where Taylor's limitations as a footballer have been exposed - he still does exactly what he did last year but while last year it was a relief, this year it's a frustration because he's just given the ball away!

Sums it up nicely in my opinion, a great one in the trenches but not so much for the way we are trying to play at the minute.

A nice win here should settle us down again hopefully. Interesting to see how Morias will fit into the system with VV/Williams both scoring goals lately.

I would like to see Morias and vV interchanging either side of Williams in a three pronged attack, Morias replacing Hoskins.

Now that comment is a proper nail on the head! I do think at the mo’ that JT is the better choice! Why split a decent pairing? I like Taylor tho’

Play Taylor as a centre forward. At least that might curtail him hoofing it. The new Langmead?
