Cornell howler, cost 2 more points.

Anyone who dosent think we need a number 1 on Jan is mistaken as he will continue to cost us points

Cornell mistake but both commentators said he slipped or lost his footing on the wet surface. No doubt those there will give an accurate assessment. Question : were you there today?

Cornell did slip tbf.

1st half decent, should have been a couple ahead, awful miss by Powell and a few other times when our final ball let us down.

2nd half awful. Taylor going off seems to unsettle us and we never got going or looked like we knew what our roles were. Stevenage were awful too, frustrating.

Yes, Cornell went arse over tit and the ball scooped up in the air. Bad decision in the first place to go backwards from the edge of the centre circle. I think it might have been McWilliams? but this was compounded then by a week back pass by Pierre. The ball slowed up on the sodden surface resulting in the slip and slice/scoop. Always a risk this sort of thing could happen on such a wet surface even with a goalkeeper who's kicking game has been excellent thus far this season.

I await a rare but expected input from Patmore  Grin

The slip shouldn't have mattered in the end as we had numerous chances to score a second.

Much a do about nothing -  perhaps he had a puncture Roll Eyes Been past the retail place a few times and even with a tail back at the new roundabout on the A45 it only took me 3 minutes. Wonder if Irchy Cobbler can give an assessment Cool

Usual numpties straight on the back of Cornell .
It was a poor back pass by Pierre and Dai slipped . Pierre was as culpable for the goal.
We were totally average today and didn’t take the game to a journeyman Stevenage side in the second half ..We sat back and went for a one nil .
No one player stood out and nobody had a shocker although Powell and Facey weren’t great .
Bowditch has his best game in a cobblers shirt but I’m not at all sure about the formation we start with up front . KvV is too isolated .
We are an average side in an average league

Fortunately I don’t have to negotiate the Rushden lakes roundabout that much - even when I visit family I just go the back way! Anyhow, back to the match - it was almost a replica of the Grimsby game, good first half and then awful second where we ended up hanging onto a point against very limited opposition, questions have to be asked over concentration levels and general attitude/game management. What it also reinforced to me is that Van Veen is far more effective as the number 10 than he is as a number 9. I thought Foley had a rare poor game today and although McWilliams got motm he went backwards too often and directly/indirectly had an influence in the equaliser.

Virtually no posts for a match day thread .
This is a very apathetic season .
Transition period I think is the phrase .
The thing is - it shouldn’t be with the squad that was retained .
I will turn up to get out of going to Rushden Lakes .
Wish I had gone to Rushden Lakes ....

It was down to an individual error......fcuking Cornells error, he's been playing a lot better of late but that was down to him no one else, dreadful game in Baltic conditions.
