NTFC currently sit lowest of the 4 sides who dropped in to League 2 last season, 8 points behind Oldham and 17 behind Milton Keynes.

We all know it's the players...only now is KC able to do something about it

RP, JED, JFH, DA & now KC have all tried and failed with this bunch

Time to finally dismantle and start again with the remit hopefully building around out talented youth/hungry non league players with a sprinkling of experience players who are winners

Hopefully, an interesting month ahead as the dismantling begins...

With no guarantee of success! But I agree....something has to change...the whole mentality of this group has to change. They're used to losing! They're used to getting away with sub standard performances.

Hopefully the manager does not have his hands tied in this window.....I think cost-cutting is on the cards...which makes it more difficult and more important to get the right people in, not just cheap journeyman options or loans who have no affinity to the club.

We'll recoup some money when KVV leaves (numerous clubs interested allegedly) and perhaps also for Crooks, Taylor (fingers crossed!) and Waters...

Don't think we'll spend any so lets build for the future by blooding the youth...

The problem with that is it could very easily go the other way - I know the majority seem to think we are going to be safe but we’re only 9 points clear and there are plenty of games left. If we throw the youth players in and we get caught up in a relegation battle then it could cause more harm than good. I can see a bit of minor surgery this window and then the major business happening in the summer when we are hopefully safe.

Agreed......still people harbour hopes of a playoff position.....12 points off a playoff position in which you have a one in four chance of going up versus 9 points off the bottom two places where you have a one in one chance of relegation.

Some youth players may thrive on the pressure, some may wilt......but surely you learn more about them then than you do if you don't try them at all!

Think back to last year...the same argument was used then. "We can't throw youth teamers in".......well they couldn't have done much worse than our established players did could they?

The problem is of course that those most likely to leave are the ones we'd prefer to stay, while those we'd like to leave may have no other clubs interested in them. I can't see KC being allowed to spend without offloading so we'll see how it plays out. Personally I think we need at least five to go. Ideally Waters and Kasim would be among them and I imagine our loanee keeper will be leaving too.

I don't think Curle has done himself any favours with the number of changes made from game to game though, and from such a promising start.
We had a settled defence with Turnbull and Pierre in the middle and weren't conceding many. They kept it simple (were told to) and it worked. Why change a foundation that's working?

Agree with this, should have left the defence alone as they were looking pretty solid for a few games, nothing against Taylor as such (he had a decent game yesterday) but we have shipped goals since his return to the team. KC should have worked on trying to improve the feed to the front boys and their finishing.

.

Really? Lets take a closer look...

Rob page's last game in charge was the 5-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers. The players we still have that were playing for us that day were Buchanan and Hoskins with O'Tool coming off the bench. Cornell unused sub.

I think it's fair to say that this can't be regarded as the same bunch.

Justin Edinburgh's last game in charge was the 1-1 draw at Coventry.  Buchanan and O'Toole played for us that day out of our current squad.Cornell unused sub.

Same bunch as now?

Only when you move in to the JFH days can it be considered the same bunch. His last game had Powell, Turnbull, A Taylor, Facey, Hoskins, Crooks, Foley and van Veen (off the bench). Buchanan, McWilliams and Cornell unused subs.

As a final thought I personally don't think Keith Curle has failed with this bunch either!  Wink Austin absolutely!
