Please accept my apologies for my non-attendance at this particular game. I have so far this season attended all games in this competition (inc the 2 away games) but on this occasion my other half has gone and booked us in to see the ballet at the Derngate. So instead of watching one set of prima-donnas, I will still nevertheless be watching another set of prima-donnas. I trust this absence will not affect my application for a Wembley ticket for the final. Apologies for absence again.

Got to say, without sounding too crass... ballet is utter s***e! Maybe my bias stems from living abroad and taking my visiting mother to the Opera... before realising fifteen minutes into the performance...it was actually ballet!

The B Team boycott, one of the few things that fans from all over the country have stood together on.
Totally individual choice of course, all the boycotters can do is put the case to their fellow fans. Been a lot of solidarity on it.
There is the "thin edge of the wedge" argument whereby B-Teams could be allowed into the league. If you think that's pie in the sky I guarantee 10 years before if you'd asked fans and owners whether EFL clubs would let Premier League clubs come in and take all their best youngsters via EPPP they'd have laughed. Yet it was voted through due to what Crystal Palace Steve Chairman Steve Parish called "veiled threats of money being taken away".
EPPP is probably my biggest bugbear of Premier League involvement in the competition. They can take our best youngsters for a capped fee and actually play them against us possibly denying us a trip to Wembley. Our current youth crop are ones that managed to escape the Vultures but plenty didn't. Fraser Hornby being probably the most high profile. If he plays x amount of games in the PL we'll be compensated with a pittance compared to his worth. If he transfers to another team and comes on there we'll get jack sh*t.
And some people on here are giddy at the possibility of 40K. It's peanuts in comparison to what we could be making out of progressing our youth talent to maturity. The younger McWilliams brothers are already at Villa.
There are various other arguments against the competition including the sense in becoming even more reliant on Premier League handouts with the next TV deal looking to take a hit on the last one.
Ultimately it's up to every one to decide if they can't drag themselves away from a game for one night for the greater good. The reasons to not attend outstrip the reasons to go for me and therefore solidarity with the boycott wins out. The atmosphere will be dead and the club will be compensated for a bad game whether people attend or not.

I wondered why Shaun McW wasn't playing like last season, have we got an older brother in as a ringer?

I'll go to Chucketrade games the moment there are no U23 sides left in the tournament, no earlier.

Man City, Chelsea and Newcastle still have teams in the "Football League" trophy, so no.

You couldn’t be more wrong matey. I will NEVER support the competition in this format, although that’s not saying I don’t want us to win it. It would be painful to boycott a Wembley final but many have and so would I.

KC in his latest interview says we are continually improving and making good progress . Let’s hope it’s demonstrated tonight because there is little evidence of recent improvement to me as we slide down the table .

That’s a pretty strong team - the only thing I would say is that now Van Veen’s gone and with the absence for whatever reason of Andy Williams we are definitely a striker light.
