Checkatrade Trophy time again and it's Bristol Rovers who visit on Tuesday 8th January.

They have appointed their successful caretaker manager today and are certainly a different team to when the draw was made in early December.

Should be a strong team on show with Luke Coddington possibly in goal for his first start of the season.

Won't be going, but hope they pick up the win for some extra pennies we can spend on Carlisle players.

Check a Trade debut for me...

Our only probable chance of some excitement this season. Just hope we win and avoid any under21 team that may be still in the competition.

I despair of our supporters sometimes. I can't even imagine what would happen if we actually needed proper fan action as for example with the 'not a penny more boycott' at Blackpool.

After another season missing out on the excitement of FA Cup third round weekend, the thought of Bristol Rovers in the Checkatrade isn't filling me with any anticipation.

Will Coddington get a start in this?

                              Coddington

                    Odoffin    Taylor    J Williams
C McWilliams                                              Buchanan
                               Turnbull
          Crooks                                    Bridge
                     A Williams         Morias

Cornell,  O'Toole, Pierre, Foley, Hoskins, S McWilliams, Powell. (if O'Toole not ready, Bowditch).

It has absolutely nothing to do with you if fans want to go or not, it doesn't make them worse fans , and I bet many that go have probably done more than you in times of crisis Roll Eyes

Surely the boycott should be for u'21 games only  Huh? That way you see the difference in attendence?
Otherwise they'll just pass it off as a people don't go so we might as well try new things. ie u21's.

I want to win. It's the only thing we've got to play for? providing we dont' slip in the league to much.

We are a lower league club that needs support! In the grand scheme of things your boycott means absolutely nothing

The EFL cover clubs for losses in hosting the games in this competition. Fans really are an optional extra.

I am not sure of yr reasons for boycotting this competition. To me you invite unmerited criticism; by all means voice your opinion but does it have to be every time the competition raises its head!

if you don't want to go then fair enough - stop trying to make out you are some sort of hero for not going.

when we are all enjoying a day out at wembley you can sit at home feeling pleased about how you managed to save £50 through the season and missed out on any fun.
