We really were second best today, the youngsters struggled all afternoon against the strength of Cambridge, especially their number 9, who i thought was excellent, yet if Morais had put that chance away to make it 3-1, things would have been a whole lot different. We somehow need to scramble enough points for survival, starting next week, as tensions are rising, both on and off he pitch. Its all too quiet for my liking, if we are up s##t creek,at least inform us paying customers , as like times gone by, the galvanising of the support may just help to help us get enough points.

With the players we had available today surely we should have gone 442 ? We could have had Jay Williams along side Pierre at the back with Facey and Cox/Buchanan at full back and pushed Turnbull into midfield along with Shaun McW. That would have given us some experience in both lines instead of putting 2 lads together to get bullied by Deegan and Co.
I thought that the ref was very weak today, he wasn't going to book Shaun until all the Cambridge players crowded him, which the did all game, that's why we had 5 bookings to their one.
Like others have said, if Junior wasn't injured, that was a terrible substitution, taking off your liveliest forward and using your last sub with 30 minutes still to go.

Second away game running, we lost the game because of Keith Curle and his substitutions.

Amazed he didn't put Turnbull in midfield with JJ and Foley missing. Huge decision to then bring on Pollock when McWilliams went off injured. Could have dropped Oddofin in to CB and move Turnbull up. We were always going to get overrun with such a lightweight midfield.

I think the look we gave each other whilst leaving spoke volumes, no words needed

What worries me is 900 fans thought that and curle didn't

Terrible that whilst watching, I was thinking that we could have done with Deegan playing for us?

Absolutely mate. Completely fed up of this group who have represented us so badly for 18 months.

The fact Curle couldn't work out that we needed to change formation as we completely over run on the flanks was a huge concern for me.

In no way do I blame any of the youngsters for yesterday, they can come out with their heads held high , they cant help it if Curle throws them under a bus

Just looked at the highlights, that penalty was outside the area, and I don't think Pierre touched him. What was Facey doing for the winner??

Especially when the replacement was that lightweight waste of space ....Powell.....what a mare he had in his cameo , culminating in not seeing out the game by gifting the U's a chance to charge up the pitch and nick it.
Something that few could argue they hadn't deserved anyway...we should have lost that game 5-2.

Soooo f^cking annoying, yet again.
Can't wait for this abysmal season to end, as long as we can regroup and stay in the League !

Exactly what I said earlier in the thread .
Curle lost us that game with a poor team selection and substitutions .
He criticises the referee and players decision making after the game but he needs to look at himself .
Very poor

On the penalty miss -
Have I missed something or did the ball go out of play and the game carried on after it rebounded off the advertising boards ?
I thought it at the time and have now just seen the replay .
It didn’t go for a goal kick at any stage

Some on their Forum thought that Deegan was Mom! He did have a noticeable decent game riding with ease any challenge.

I assume then that nobody else is going to mention that their 2nd goal is a floated cross into the 6 yard box that is headed home from less than a yard out at chest height?

Good Morning!

I have regularly driven to Cambridge and found parking tricky too, however one street normally does it providing you get there reasonably early. If you come in from the A14, following b1047 to Cambridge, a right then puts you on Newmarket Rd. Shortly on the right is Macdonalds, turn right here into Wadloes Rd, ok parking here, as I say if early enough. One tip though is turn around and park facing the way you will leave. I was a bit late one time and only space was across someone’s drive, cheekily I knocked on the door and asked if I could park for a couple of hours and the chap said it was fine!

Phil in Npton

Forgot to mention, this was excellent advice. Both Baldy and myself took advantage and were not disappointed and the recommendation to arrive early was necessary.
Many Thanks Nick in Npton...

I agree but there was someone near us shouting abuse about them, suggesting it's their fault we were losing. It's a good learning experience for them and they will progress to be better players than them around them on Saturday. The other good news is there are more to come from their year.

Oh go on, your point being what exactly? Cornell dig from the very person accused of being obsessed with an anti-Cornell agenda....and had the brass to deny it!
