Joe Powell is correct in his interview. The pitch certainly is different.
The pitches on the racecourse are better.
What is Curle up to training on it !

The pitch hasn't been as good as normal all season. I commented on in to my sons at the first game of the season when big divots of turf needed replacing during the game. Maybe it's something to do with the very dry summer we had last year.

It's because they are using it for training.

It wasn't re-laid during the summer was it? Think that happens every 2 years so this pitch is coming to the end of it's life cycle now.

They're using it for training but the good news is that they only train twice a week and everyone gets plenty of well deserved days off.

Hang on a second I thought Moulton was a world class facility so why would they be training on the pitch?

Trying to recreate Plough Lane?

The pitch hasn't been so good all season, before they were training on it regularly when DA was manager.

Agreed... it's due for a major MOT this summer I believe.

It has been cutting up a little during a game but is far from racecourse standard.

I agree, nowhere near racecourse standard but not up to the high standards we normally expect.

It's a common problem with large stadiums.
The sun struggles to permeate the high structures around the pitch, causing significant problem to the natural growth cycle of grass. Perhaps they could leave the retractable roof open a bit more to expose the pitch to the elements...
