I loved Tim Oglethorpe’s post match ramble with Benji where he was advocating the club going out in the summer and flashing the chequebook to sign a marquee 20+ goal a season striker - the chance would be a fine thing, I don’t think he had read the memo of the club being millions in the red!

He even asked Sordell if he would still be here with us next season as the fans were desperate to know!

He really does come out with some utter bollox.

As for the out of contract player I'd only keep Bridge...

Bin off all the others & list Bunney, Waters & AT

JJOT was utterly atrocious when he came on.

I’m desperate to know when sordell will be going - nice bloke but completely ineffective and seems to be made of glass. I’d agree about the retained list with the possible exception of foley who is probably worth another contract but even his performances have tailed off the last few weeks. What we need to happen but probably won’t is that the futures of Pierre and Turnbull get sorted out early on so we know what we have to play with rather than it dragging out all summer and Pierre leaves for an undisclosed fee the week before the start of the season. I wonder if it’s worth offering Pierre and Turnbull new contracts to try and preempt things?

Who was the fella that interviewed curle? It's the first time in a long time I've heard a bbc northants reporter ask some more direct insightful questions!

I think it was jake (sharp?) who I agree seems to have a lot more about him than some of his colleagues.

Yeah, he seems alright. I would have liked him to ask about tbe Williams substitution though.

I heard that too. He does talk some rubbish sometimes.
Sordell sounded equally as unenthusiastic to be here as we want him here .
The bloke quite obviously is frightened of getting another injury and jumps out of everything .
He was putting in about 60% effort .
Get rid and play someone who cares

Deserves to be sent back, based on that interview alone.

Showed little care / desire when questioned about next season.

Plus seemed to imply that getting 90 minutes was purely aimed to get his fitness up - not what we've signed him for

Van Veen has scored 27 league goals in 4 years.

He had scored 10 goals for us this season prior to leaving half way through the season, so it’s hardly unrealistic to think he might have got 20

He’d actually only scored 7 league goals. When you add in the fact that he’s never been prolific and the lack of quality around him, I think it’s unrealistic.

I will one thing in favour of Sordell, and that was the only bit of football we played yesterday was the interchange between him and Bridge

But didn’t today show that his legs have almost completely gone - when he came on he immediately gave it away and then looked like he was running through quicksand trying to get back (it may have been in the build up to their second?). I know that pace was never one of his attributes but there’s no point in having him as a passenger.
I'm going to hold fire and hope he recovers his form. He's been very stop/ start this season.

Does that mean that you’ve heard he’s got a new contract 😉? Seriously, if he is still here next season he has to have a full pre season as his fitness is so up and down.

I like Tim but he didn't do himself any favours with this one. It started well with Tim suggesting we should spend real money to acquire a '20 goals a season' striker, but he lost it when holding up the purchase of KVV as an example of this. KVV was a signing made out of desperation and an absolute waste of money.

Spot on .
He is exactly the sort of loan player you don’t want . Uncommitted and only using us to get back to fitness.
I would rather we played the youngsters and get bullied than play the likes of Sordell.

Yet he gets to stay on the pitch while A Williams gets pulled.

Or Williams could have been the player complaining of being fatigued at half time - my moneys on him or McWilliams but we’ll never know.
