So there you have it.....
Foley, Bowditch, Bridge, Buchanan, Coddington, Goff, Facey and Iaciofano out of contract and gone
Taylor, Waters and Bunney still in contract but available
Powell the only one offered a new deal, O'Toole has an option to stay.
Cornell, McWilliams, Hoskins, Morais, Pierre, Turnbull and Williams all under contract.
Interestingly Curle says that some of those under contract for next season might decide their futures lie elsewhere too following conversations held today.......so out of those last 7 listed above....who could he be referring to??
Morias and Williams I’m going for, silly if so though imo

The danger with players being put on the list and others being told that they may not be in KC’s plans is that the summer could drift by and we don’t know what full budget we’re playing with if there are no takers. Even worse if no one comes in for them we are left with players who aren’t wanted/don’t want to be here.

I agree with you, and in Williams case, I agree with you! I dont think Curle would be to disappointed if Cornell and McWilliams followed them either.

Hoskins and Powell fit in with the "high tempo, front foot" mantra that Curle mentioned this morning. If you can run fast you're half way there it seems. Foley is not getting any younger so not much of a surprise, although hes been one of the better performers this season. Bridge seemed ok at times but wasn't in the Curle mould. Oh well.....we go again!

Daniel Powell should not be anywhere near this football club . He has mugged us off for two years and has put in about 60% effort . Bridge meanwhile is very unlucky not to be offered terms .

Look at the squad, Is Bridge really any better than the kids from the Youth team ?? ....... He becomes a blocker for Pollock, Newell and Roberts.

I'm a bit baffled as well. Possibly a Centre Half manager's pick. Bridge - skillful, creative. Powell - tall, runs a lot. The latter is lucky Curle only witnessed his more recent performances.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but I can see the reasoning behind offering Powell something.
Cynics would suggest that his recent up-turn in form is due to his contract running out; a more charitable explanation might be that Curle has finally started playing him in his best position: as a forward down the middle.
His composed finishing, pace and strength on the ball mean that he has decent attributes for a striker at this level. His inconsistent crossing and lack of capacity to track back are less of an issue if he's played down the middle. He's had a decent return in terms of goals and assists in recent weeks and I could see him having an impact next year if used correctly.
Time will tell.

curle saw what I saw at Cambridge. Powell was awful. Hope the player proves us wrong next season. After the last 2 years, shame he doesn't have the integrity to leave.

The biggest disappointment for me was Facey. No idea what caused such a dramatic decline for him as he was excellent when he first arrived. Such was the decline, I'd be shocked if he got a football league contract next year.

Agree, his contract offer will also be considerably less than what he's on (signed on L1 wages) now. Still a good age too so no biggie if he stays or goes Also, rather Powell over Bowditch anyday.

Yep, I agree with this. You've got to play him in the right position.

Always was a case of style over substance for me.

Would that have something to do with the fact he was at Man City? I imagine coming to Northampton, you have to alter your expectations of your career.
