The grumpy old man, Pete Walton is the ex-Premier league referee who is also a Cobblers supporter.

It was like watching us play against ourselves.

Cobblers v Cobblers  Grin

Neither team had a clue.

Well well, who’d have thought Hoskins up front on his own at home to Crawley wouldn’t work. That was turgid - the only difference from the Colchester game is that they’re nowhere near as good as they were. We’re getting nothing from Elsnik, Powell or bridge - why we’ve brought Elsnik and Powell in when they’re no better than what we’ve already got is baffling.

Apparently we were missing several players incl. Turnbull.

I can recall loads of goals we've scored from corners! Especially short corners...which we've always been utterly useless at. KC has certainly improved us when it comes from set pieces, that cannot be disputed. I cant remember seeing us look so strong from them, even when we won the league. Im not including direct freekicks/clever routines aka Wilder/Knill.

Strangely though, we look crap at defending them. Which is hard to explain, so that must be down to our zonal marking.

As for todays game, cant say Im enthusiastic about it. 16th v 17th is hardly mouth watering. Preferring the away games at the minute, at least its a day out!

You must have a very good memory, about us scoring regularly from corners!! The only time we were guaranteed a goal or two, was in the Ian Atkins era almost 20 years ago!!

I don’t like ‘our’ current style of play at the moment, quite bored today.. I think we are really slow going forward, and don’t run at the opposition, to make them panic and make mistakes. Hoskins needs to be put in 1 to 1 situations, else he’s never going to have a chance of scoring..

Defending is poor, should be closer to the opponent, and in front of them, stopping them going forward..

Defence should also be in the oppositions half, not the last 10yards, where they make mistakes..

Passes are rushed, and no one seems to be able to keep the ball, to allow a pass to be picked out. It all seems rushed to me, and decisions were kick it away ASAP or up in the air!! so many headers!! What a waste...

We have no wingers to run down the line, where are the players we used to have, who did This?? at least we used to get balls across the box..

Goalkeeper is also too slow, by the time he makes a kick, opposition has gone back to their default positions, much easier to punt the ball over into space, and let our quick forwards, get a better chance..

I know, I am not a manager, but Christ, we need something better to watch,, what do you guys think.. I have only been a st holder for 20+ years, so I know a lot of you lot are more experienced than I am!!

Super Sam  Grin now a cult comedy figure, why does he jump for headers 2 seconds before the ball comes hilarious, hoofing the ball up to him WTF.
As for the game, I just want it to fade away in my memory as quickly as possible, was it even a game?
If that's what Mr Curle thinks is entertainment then my season ticket money for next season will be spent on something else because watching that every week can seriously affect your mental health aye Ron?

is Walton on the Cobblers’ payroll. Upbeat comments on Radio Noddy were ludicrous. As were The pundits puzzlement at crowd reaction. My post-match boos were for the manager and his one up-front, hoof it up to non-scoring striker, late substitution ineptitude.

Welcome though foley and Turnbull (both holding midfielders) would have been it wouldn’t exactly have changed things going forward as we would still have had Hoskins on his own up front.

Just to confirm then..........the defence with a clean sheet were poor and going forward we were too slow but rushed?!?!........it was too aimless but Cornell should have just g launched it aimlessly.

Well, that was the worst game I've seen this season and I'd go so far as to say possibly the most boring match I've ever watched, if not the outright worst match I've ever sat through. And there's some pretty stiff competition!

Yeah, we got a point and kept a clean sheet but my god was it turgid! At least when we got walloped in the last home game there was something going on; granted, it was in the wrong box but at least it held your attention.

If you have watched the Cobbs for a minimum of say 10 years; based on I suppose as your time as a supporter then it wasnt the worst game Roll Eyes If you have been a supporter for more than 10 years then your argument lacks credibility - do you agree Uncle Ron?

Turgid stuff.

Have no problems setting up like that, if KC must.

But should have been way more proactive to go and get 3 points - perfectly doable with options from the bench

Oh f*** off, Evers, you pompous, patronising dick. Was it the worst performance? No. Was it the worst game? Yes, based on it being contested by two equally useless sides and being utterly devoid of incident I genuinely think it was. That's what's called a personal opinion. You might not share it, but that's the good thing about opinions; we're all allowed our own.

And for the record, not that it's in the slightest bit relevant, I've been a season ticket holder for 21 years and went to the majority of away games for the first 19 of them. I've also attended dozens of games as a neutral and watched hundreds of games on TV. I struggle to think of any game that bored me as much as today's did. Credible enough for you?
