Womble supporters were sold out and the club was dragged away from them against their wishes. If CCFC don’t find a ground they cease to exist apparently? If true it’s not the same senario Corno. Despite any adverse feelings towards the support base if it increases revenue it has to be a good thing doesn’t it?
Morals vs. Money though. Felt wrong accommodating their stay last time. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the EFL went back on their 'must play in Coventry' line, if it means they can fulfill their fixtures. CCFC are in a mess between their hedge-fund owners, their council, and Wasps (amongst others) a complete mess! I'd suggest that the short term financial gain would be outstripped by the reputation damage of dealing with SISU. Not to mention the trouble Coventry fans could cause if they turn even further against SISU. And we wonder why the bigger companies won't deal with NTFC. Not worth it.
Absolutely this.

OK a bit clumsily worded, the club have struggled to attract significant, transformational investment from the large, multinational companies in the region. That's better.
This has absolutely fúck all to do with the groundshare, we have failed since the dawn of time to attract big sponsors/investors. We could not even hold on to support from Carlesberg.

You'll find that large companies such as carlsberg take great care of their brand image and who they associate with. A club that has lost upwards of £11.5 million pounds, dealt with SISU and brought Coventry problems to our doorstep *might* not be conducive to that. Coventry fans are already planning protests should they leave Coventry or become homeless. Why the hell would NTFC want to get involved with that? Btw seems a moot point if the EFL thing is true.

Carlesberg shat on us before anyone had even dreamt of forming a company called SISU.

So we could let their club fold and lose all their history... like a local club down the road they could start again.
Or, we could let them play at sixyfields and prolong them folding in the hope they might find a resolution,
I'm all for saving clubs, regardless of rivalries and what have you.
I do not believe any business's will think the Cobblers helping keep a fellow club alive is a bad ting.

I would happily let Cov play at Sixseats if it kept them alive, but that’s the only reason. Feel for Cov, they were very generous with us before the FA cup game........when we were in deep Shyte.

Definitely would welcome them back [if possible]. They were generous to us at the FA Cup game which is another reason to help them. It would also generate a bit of extra revenue for us. The best scenario for them though, is to get rid of their malicious owners and let someone take over, who will do a deal with Wasps.

What if their fans are actively against coming to Northampton and would protest against it at our place? Do you think they are going to respond to being made homeless well? They are going to go ape.

I agree on this, if their fans don't want it then we should not have them back here, sod what SISU want this should be about what the Cov fans want.

Exactly, they are effectively engaged in a battle to the end now with SISU a bit like Blackpool fans and the Oystons. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. They were protesting at Luton on Sunday.

The Trust gave money back to Coventry City Trust in September 2016 in the form of donations to two nominated charities.

Yes, and rightfully so, but they still gave it to us in the first place. If this did come up again, I think it would be good to have some sort of consultation with the Cov fans. If it's a case of playing at Sixfields or folding then I think many of them would be in favour, however I guess there would be plenty who'd rather go under and start again. If the majority were in favour though I see no bad press coming our way if we were to offer them somewhere to play (although I think it's likely to be a moot point anyway).

If Peterborough were experiencing the same problems as Coventry, how many would welcome them in a groundshare?

The costs in fumigating the ground after each time they played here would be horrendous!!!!!!

That's the Ricoh out of the frame then! 😂 Can't see Coventry RFC being a legitimate option in all seriousness. Location ideal, but only one stand holding around 2,500 tops I'd guess. Another 1500 around the perimeter. Bedworth Utd also under capacity, marginally over the 6 mile radius...but 3G pitch...though there is a station at least!

What a sorry mess. Highfield Road wasn't a bad ground either.
