2 away wins and one draw and the Cobblers scoring 2 goals in each of the three games I have managed to see them play from my base in Liverpool.

A Wilderesque perfrmance at Gresty Rd , fantastic  performance from a physical Cobblers team, great vocal away support.Cobbs outmuscled Crewe, JJOT back to his top form under Wilder .Raised eyebrows over Daniel Powells selection but all credit to Curle as he made hs physical presence wide right very effective as well as scoring the opening goal.Other standout performers were Turnbull, Taylor, Pierre, and Hoskins.Artel again threw his toys out of the pram like he did at Sixfields, looking to blame the ref and the physical nature of the Cobbs as excuses for his side's defeat.Crewe try to play Premiership style football in Div 2 and he has found out the hard way that although pleasing on the eye it is not always a recipe for success.Curle on the other hand got his tactics and selection spot on.

Interesting and authentic comments. Good read.

Dont think Artel was moaning about the Cobblers style of play, he was more concerned that his side couldn't compete with it. He didn't actually moan about the ref as he refused to comment too much about him.

And actually if you read what he says it's pretty much bang on. We are/have been a very very average league two team this season, also we out muscled and battled them yesterday, which us something that has been happening to us for most of the season against the bigger more physical teams

Not sure how the long, long renditions of "31, 31 undefeated...playing football the Wilder way" went down in the Curle camp!

Thanks for that, I couldn't work out what they were singing apart from the '31'.
Went on a bit though...

That's what I thought I was hearing.

Although there are a few that I make my own words or hum along to.  Tongue
It would help if the actual words of the songs/chants with more than three words were put on a thread. Especially for us of the age where hearing isn't one of the senses that has survived fully after contact with the ageing process?  Grin

Tbf, everyone was alternating between 'Cobblers' and 'Wilder' way.
The former really isn't our way though is it!

Talking of misheard lyrics, when my son was about 8 or 9, we were watching the Cobblers (who were 1 -0 up) and the crowd were singing joyously.

Out of the blue, he asked me why it was that we were ‘fancy’.  I asked him what he meant.  He said “well everyone’s singing  ‘one nil, to the fancy town’.”

He’s 24 now and living in Bristol but comes home occasionally and comes along to the odd game.  If we go 1-0 up we get the strangest looks...

Given we were singing 'Wilder' and knowing exactly the fan who started the chant yesterday - I was literally next to him...you should have cottoned onto the subtle agenda of the song!  Wink

Mrs CJ, not being a regular, asked me what was being sung, so I told her.
'But that was ages ago, you sang that at Charlton' was her reply.
Some songs age better than others!
