Decent committed performance, just what you need to win games in League Two, in the Ian Atkins style. Great pressing causing them to make mistakes. In reality though the score could have gone either way with Cornell making at least one top save and the scramble in the first half. We also had chances but I don't think their keeper had many saves to make. We've found the knack of being strong in both boxes at the moment when it matters. That sort of game is what I expect to see from us and enjoy seeing. We're still limited in certain areas but currently makingt He most of what we do have. Well done KC and all.

Ha yeah that scramble was straight out of the Google search for "sum up league 2 attackers"
Cornell's save down to his right in the second half was very decent mind you and also shout out to their goalkeeper who had a cracking **** actresses name, Christy Pym

Talking of whom - well out of order for appearing to blatantly kick Facey at the end - but we’ll done to steward for preventing the even more out of order fan going on the pitch.

The most pleasing thing is we seem to have gone back to basics. No messing around with strikers playing in full-back positions, or putting square pegs in round holes. The manager is now playing players in their proper positions and we're reaping the rewards.

This is the first decent run of form that hasn't been a 'new manager bounce' in nearly three years. I admit I was very worried after that Colchester game, but since then the team has looked organised and physical, and at times quite creative as well.

The last two games against Crewe and Exeter we've absolutely bossed the midfield, and I think we've identified a really strong combination now in O'Toole, Foley and Turnbull. The latter two for me should be battling it out for Player of the Season, and JJOT is getting back to his best form.

I think the Play-Offs, while not impossible, is probably going to be too much of an ask. But we're no longer looking over our shoulders and hopefully we can build up some momentum that we can take into next season.

The biggest factor has been going from 3 at the back  to 4 at the back

The question is at what point will KFC blink and revent to type.

As for the play offs.... We just need to keep getting a point closer each game werk and time our run to perfection.

Although the result was welcome, I can't say I enjoyed the game.
Too much hoofball with ill-directed long balls from the back and few passages of play where they managed to string 3 or more passes together.
However the back 4 looked solid and the midfield 3 provided a physical barrier.
This was probably the most experienced side he could put out especially when A.Williams replaced Sordell, with only Goode having less than 90 first team appearances.

It will be interesting to see if experience will give way to youth once our tentative interest in the play-offs is finally laid to rest.

I enjoyed the game yesterday, it's nice that we are starting to boss games and are in total control. It is not spectacular, but we now look solid and for a so called better team in the division , i thought they were never really in it. Hard to choose a MOM as every one played well, no weak link yesterday, amazed at what a different player Daniel Powell looks at the moment, whatever they have done with him, long may it continue.

Re Powell, I suspect that the pending threat of unemployment has focused his mind a bit.

Wasn't there a pending threat of unemployment most of the Championship season too? You may be on to something.

Agreed Goode is looking very solid indeed.
Their goal was another Ash Taylor mistake, although apart from that he played OK.
Exeter were v poor, no way are they going anywhere, took off their best player Nicky Law and faded badly.

I'm struggling to see that mistake.

He's switched fire away from finding fault with Cornell... Grin

No way was the goal Taylors fault.Exeter no 5 reacted quicker than Taylor to Cornells save but that happens.
Taylor has played well the last 4 games, need to give credit where it is due.

Full highlights are now up.

First thoughts are that the blocks at 0-0 by Goode and I think Taylor were much better than they looked live, and fundamentally changed the course of the afternoon.

Secondly the save by DC at 1-0 low down to his right is a good 'un, and points towards an improvement in his game lately.
