Reality check, fast 20 pass, one touch football is not always conducive to league 2 success. Most teams wont have many if any overtly gifted players so will play to their strengths, which will be stopping the opponents from playing , a couple of passes then get it out wide or through the middle to the fast guy! Exactly like Chris Wilder did and Keith Curle does. Getting out of the basement division asap is all important, the style of football is completely irrelevant.
Incorrect beds, from what I've seen if curle he us getting us to hoof the ball from back to front as quickly and as far as possible with no concived pre plan other than getting a single totally isolated striker to run down the long hoof as quickly as he can in the hope he may get there before the opposition defender. If this way of football has any hope of working you simple need to get the midfield further up the pitch. It's a horrible visual style but can work if you have the right players and system in place. But you're wrong again the best managers can mix up the style of play with the ability of both going long but also playing some football. Wilder was long of this, curle is not on current view and I can't see us progressing any futhur id he us at the helm next year, that said he's earnt himself the chance by keeping us up. Also if he continues with this style there is zero point is siging anyone with creativity in midfield as we are just bypassing midfield at present

I actually don't mind a bit of hoofball, if the personal are right, Ian Atkins side wasn't pretty (wouldn't tell big john Gayle that) big strong powerful and dominating, they knew the strengths and played to them perfectly.

Quite right Beds - some incl. B&S.& SOG playing fancy Dan football all the way to the conference a la Austin!
Not at all . There is a happy medium between playing tippy tappy football and “ percentage “ football . You can retain possession but still play a high tempo closing game without lumping it every 5 minutes . Our last promotion team illustrated that . If you do play the territorial high ball game , you need the players to support it . My point is , I personally am not going to travel the breadth of the country to watch that style of football or renew my season ticket . It’s dire and will not suit our young players we should be supporting . You can disagree if you want , but that’s my opinion .

Why's that nevers??? Would it be because Someone differs from you view once again and you feel the need to take a personal swipe???

Try looking to see when it was posted before having a Jesus wept hissy moment...and try appreciating a little subtle humour eh!

Just that as I've said before, a rather tired, lazy assumption - one that Oxford fans made of our title winning Wilder side, based on what they'd seen (once or twice max) under Boothroyd! Lincoln were certainly not hoof at Sincil Bank (twice) or even Sixfields on the opening day...lucky yes!

I've seen them twice against us and twice on tv so 4 times overall and they don't play an awful lot of football either. I think the fact the Cowley brothers are still there and haven't been scooped up by a bigger club tells you some bigger clubs don't want/like there style of play. I remember speaking to a luton supporter mate after Jones went to stoke. We were talking about potential replacements and I mentioned Cowley. His reaction was no fecking way we find want two big centre half goofing it to two big centre forward while we are playing such good football here thank you and I reckon his not far off the mark

They have got this far with their current method, we'll probably see whether they will be found out when they get into League One up against a number of clubs and managers who have the Championship experience. Good luck to them, but I can't see them (the Cowley's not necessarily Lincoln) getting much further up the pyramid unless they have the ability to change/improve.
