Well I'm gunna bother , along with many other supporters, just hoping there's a reaction and the team turns up.
Away Days are so much better, as we all agree.

It been a good 35 years or so since I last went to Meadow Lane. I was trying to do the '92' at the time and they were in the old first division at the time and had a game against Arsenal. Arsenal had recently signed Charlie Nicholas who was tipped to become the new wonder boy, the new George Best even (some hope of that), so off I went. I remember absolutely nothing about the ground, the game, the final score or anything other than going home terribly disappointed by the performance of Charlie Nicholas. He seemed totally disinterested, seemingly made little effort and swanned around as if saying that he thought himself to be far too good to be where he was. Anyway, I've decided to go Saturday but fully expecting this time to see 11 players totally disinterested, seemingly making little effort and swanning around as if thinking they are far too good to be where they are. Looking at Notts County's league position I'm not expecting it to be any of their 11 players. If we are not careful it could be another embarrassing afternoon.

Are you sure it wasn't Peter Marinelo,he was labelled the "new George Best"? Our last visit to Meadow Lane was a memorable game with Brendan Moloney scoring the winner, followed by THAT speech from Chris Wilder. I'm expecting totally the opposite on Saturday, County will be up for it, I hope we are, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Fair play to those that go, after the last couple of games I have much better ways of spending a Sat afternoon.

In actual fact there are seven of us going from Leicester, but only me going to the game They're sort of partaking in a Cobblers awayday - without the actual game. Liked the Vat and Fiddle last time I went. Beerheadz is a small craft beer bar next to the station, Barley Twist a similar bar between station and Broadmarsh. Two old favourites are Ye Olde Trippe to Jerusalem next to and even in the castle walls! And The Canalhouse a pub with a canal inside it. I'm sure Coolie has some other options.

I had been planning to go for a while as good for a few drinks but I have now come to the same conclusion. The season seems to be over for the players so it is for me as well.

I fear this game . They will be properly up for it and I think a lot of our players know they are on the way out . I really hope I am wrong but we could get turned over if we are not careful

These games can go either way can't they? First scenario they are up for it we are not = County win Second scenario we are more relaxed, they play with fear of making a mistake one eye on Yeovil and Macclesfield, we get in front they crumble = Cobblers win

We will be in the Canalhouse from about 11.15.

I'd stay there until about 4:45 if I were you.

Literally no idea why you'd spend time and money watching this lot away from home between now and the end of the season.

Its a day out......the football is now incidental!! Not been to County since the 90's but I think this will be my 5th or 6th visit there!

Here we go again! Try getting a life (that doesn't mean watching ice-hockey in MK!) and going to Nottingham...you might see why Pattcob has a load of non-Cobblers mates going for the day!

same reason people go to home games or the JPT trophy games (or whatever it is) - they support their home town football club................they shouldnt be judged for it or berated. i have no idea why you wouldnt want to go to be honest - but the place will be better off without you.

And you think that is the sum total of an awayday? You are a sheltered saddo...though why you feel the need to post the same s***e for every away thread is also rather telling!

Can honestly say that me going to this has absolutely nothing to do with the football team simply the outstanding city. Canal house is a superb boozer and certainly will be visited. We touch down at 9.30. Can't wait.
