Who's realistically in the running?

Cornell, Turnbull, Pierre?

Pierre clear winner imo...followed by Turnbull then Foley....special mention for Goode who has improved the defence since his arrival.

Cornell average at best and will always be a number 2 imo, he's had pretty much zero competition all season which doesn't help.

KC will bring in a new number one in the Summer with Cornell adequate back up/competition

this is probably accurate - which again just shows how bad we have been on occasions this year - i dont think these 3 will have strung 10 passes together with team mates all season

The Chron should add Claire Balding to the list of candidates.

I can't believe that people are even willing to vote in this.

Pierre and Turnbull are the only choices really .
Neither of them have been outstanding though .
No one else has bothered to turn up this season

Absolutely right. Pierre will win. Cornell with any luck will only have 4 games left as our starter.

Yet he is in top 3 of MOM and always gets a good hand from the North at start of game🧨

I like consistency from a player.

Not to forget Pierre has 7 goals in all competitions this season only 2 less than Andy Williams and 3 behind Kevin Van Veen.

Apart from the goal conceded with Cornell once again contributed too, which against a decent team would have cost us a point a best - 3 points at worst you mean!

Massive defensive error and a very decent finish from their lad is how I see it.

As a Cornell supporter he might have done better with their goal; that is ‘not hesitating when coming out’ and end up in NML. To me it is a moot  point if coming out would have avoided the goal.-
As you are perceived as a ‘Keeper expert’  please advise in simple English how you would have coped in similar circumstances?

Has to be Turnbull without a doubt. Just looking at this season's results, he hardly appeared under Austin, then became a regularly under Curle which coincided with an upturn of form. The worst defeats under Curle occurred against Newport (1-3), Colchester (0-4), Cheltenham (1-3), Port Vale(1-2) all happened when he was absent through injury.

Apart from Turnbull, virtual ever-presents Pierre and Foley could be in with a shout. Goode has performed consistently since January, but as for the others either not enough game time to be in with a chance (McWilliams, Williams, D.Powell) or just not impactful enough (Hoskins, JJOT). Buchanan worth a place bet for sentimental reasons in what probably will be his last season.

The Cobblers supporters deserve an award for enduring this season - average home league gate virtually certain to end up over 5,000 and a very decent away following most games.

Turnbull or Pierre for me but you have to think the players have under performed generally (my guess would be that we have one of the heaviest payrolls in this league).

Another thing to pick up on, and those clowns on the radio kept saying it, that it was only the first game, and that Mac are a good side and they'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, as if to say it's not really all that bad!
So it was our first opening day
this against a team who just 16 months ago were scraping up through the conference playoffs whilst we were fighting delegation from league one. 2 suppose they'd call it progress i see DOOM
