Summer Transfer Rumours 2019

With the season all but over, time has come to look to next season hopefully with some optimism that we will improve on this year.

Any rumours / gossip of players we may be chasing / would like to bring in.

The obvious one is Shaq Coulthirst - who we were reportedly chasing in January and has continued to score goals at the level below - Any other rumours?

In all seriousness - Curle is here next seasons - weather I like it or not - So we may as well all get behind him and give him the opportunity to bring his own players in and shape his own team!

Ibehre from Cambridge (KC tried getting him in Jan but Cambridge wanted a fee) hopefully KC won't go back in for him as he's well past it but nothing would surprise me.

Hope & Devitt from Carlisle if they don't go up...

I think he's contracted to only play league 2 football but rarely ventures south of Manchester.

Which is exactly what most of us have been saying for weeks now, has the penny finally dropped? I’m sure you’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until he makes his first signing of the summer and when it’s not messi you’ll moan, then if heaven forbid we lose a game early next season or play in a style not acceptable to your lofty standards then you’ll moan again.

Anyway back to the thread - I hope we look to someone with a bit more mileage left than an ibehre. Didn’t someone say KC was looking at an experienced striker a while back? We desperately need pace in the wide areas - both fullbacks/wingbacks and wide attackers and could also do with KC/Tracey using their contacts to unearth a ilias chair or Jorge grant on loan.

For varying reasons i could see any one of Taylor, DB3, Facey or Bunny ending up there.

Mainly location, $$$ and the owners.

Hylton is a super shout - Can't see Luton holding onto him ion the Champ.

Real nuisance player who knows where the back of the net is and could play off a bigger forward.

As you alluded to in another thread it all depends on a number of factors - most notably KC’s retained list (for what it’s worth I would be disappointed with anything less than a massive cull) and the funds/budget he’s given by KT. In the January deadline we saw names like Hylton (the sublime) bandied around only to end up with the ridiculous (Sordell), I can’t see anyone as high profile as Hylton coming here - if he did it would be a massive coup but very little chance.

We were in for Ryan Watson [again] as well. Will we try again in the Summer?

A lot more realistic than Hylton (!) - he seems a bit maligned on here possibly due to a bit of an underwhelming loan spell but he’s had a very good season at Carlisle. Jamie DeVitt is also out of contract I believe and would add to the creativity in the midfield.
