Just what we need a 36 year old journey man who’s scored 10 goals in 49 games what a phenomenal stoke rate (not)

A Hoskins/Ibehre partnership - mouthwatering!

Come on Irchy I expected more from you. How about a Warburton/Ibehre partnership or Morias/Ibehre? Classic big man little man partnership that's often successful in league 2.

I was only being facetious! I agree about the big man little man comment - I just would hope that we could bring in a slightly more inspiring big man than ibehre, having said that the likes of John Gayle and Garry Thompson didn’t score many and still made a decent contribution. If we do get this Warburton it would go down as a bit of a coup - KC must be a good salesman if he has persuaded him to sign! Having said that we are going to need to bring in some proven quality to provide the ammunition for him or we risk turning another decent striker s**t as we so often have in the past.

I think Andy Williams would benefit from having a big man next to him. But it's all up in the air at the moment because we don't know the players that may be transfer listed next Monday.

It's easier to think of the ones that will definitely be offered something or are still under contract. A short list which may become even shorter if one or two receive better offers elsewhere.

Curle is so unpredictable , it is very hard to guess who he may keep.
Suddenly the likes of ( god forbid ) Daniel Powell and Bowditch come into contention whereas Bridge and Taylor drop out .
Some may also be offered reduced terms bearing in mind they were signed when the club thought it had a cash injection and the players had enhanced reputations .
As I have said before , I wouldn't be unhappy to see anyone leave except the youngsters and possibly Pierre .
Sammo said on Saturday that there is virtually nothing to build the club around and he is dead right .

Sammo also said Cornell is a good goalkeeper for this level, that will shut some up!

Another point, isn't Taylor under contract for next season? I'm sure he is, but I'm equally sure that he'll be on his way.

I really expect Powell to be offered something. Not sure about Bowditch, but as said previously, I would welcome them both leaving. Some players have already stated their intentions [to leave]. I'm more worried about the likes of Pierre who we might wish to keep but end up losing anyway.

That's why he's been dropped recently. It's all about encouraging him to go.

It might shut a few up but this will surprise them: there has been interest in him.

Strong rumours on Stockport forum that Warburton who is currently a teacher has agreed a 2 year deal with us.

It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest - like I said a few weeks ago all of the players who leave us will have no trouble finding some other mug team that think they can solve the enigma that is Dean Bowditch or shay facey etc. Ash Taylor is obviously another of the big earners that KC is having to try to balance the books with, what does surprise me is that with a year left on his contract isn’t he going to have that year paid off or some kind of mutual agreement?

Did anybody else at the Yeovil game here rumours of "posh" being interested in one of our youth team products?

I assumed that to be the case. I bet he's on 2-3k a week, and I also bet that his CV, which is good, will ensure there will be a fair amount of interest in him. He's also got a young family, I doubt he will want to keep travelling down here. As soon as he knows he's not playing, he cant get back up the M6 quick enough so he's hardly a committed team player! Was he at the game on Saturday, Id be amazed if he was?!

I have a hunch that he will end up back at Tranmere, regardless on whether they go up or not!

He was there on Saturday, I think his kids might have been mascots? I notice nobody is complaining that they didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to him!

Shame how things have turned out. Player of the Year last season. It was said his head was turned because of interest elsewhere but maybe there's more to it.

You need to listen to Sammo again as he mentioned 3 players to build around and possibly a 4th. He also included Cornell in the group.

He didn't say he's a good goalkeeper. He said thought he was fine for this level, and speculated about how realistic it would be to recruit someone who's basically 10/10 every week.

He actually said that he is "a good goalkeeper for this level".  Interpret that how you will but those were his words.
He also speculated that at this level it would be difficult to recruit a 10/10 keeper.  I interpret that as you would only be able to recruit a 10/10 keeper, like De Gea, in the Premier League.
