It sounds like Alfred has heard something - I hope he does sign for us but it doesn’t sound promising.

Chris Lines a midfielder who is a year older than Sam Foley and 3 years older than JJOT. This was not what I was expecting. Where are the young and hungry players we were promised.
he can still be hungry? and he can still be better than the 2 players you have mentioned. and probably is.

That’s a good shout to be fair - if he does go to Walsall I’d imagine that KC won’t be too chuffed if he’s been tracking him for a while and thought he had an agreement in place.
Your right. We made an approach weeks ago. This is known because CL telephoned a 1st team player to ask his opinion of the club.

Agree with this - Lines would be a significant upgrade on foley/jjot in my opinion, I just hope we get this over the line (pun intended), I guess it depends on his integrity but at the end of the day there’s not a lot of that in football these days and the pull of his old manager may be too much. Regarding jjot, if he does end up staying I hope the club invest in a time machine for Moulton as that’s the only way he would be an asset for next season.

D Clarke was appointed Manager a few days ago so it might be a reasonable guess that he would sign ex players! No mention of Lines hijack on Walsall forum; except an indirect comment mentioning some BR players released.

Another thing that might be against us is that he would save an hour [approx] a day on his travelling if he goes to Walsall. Hope this comes off. We are only guessing his former manager would come in for him.

Yeah, thought this too. Walsall a better move logistically for him i guess. Seems a loyal guy though so hopefully he keeps to his original agreement to sign for us...

Yes, and I haven't seen anything to confirm Walsall are in for him. And salary comes into it as well.

I agree but the tone of Alfred’s post sounded like he had heard something that may scupper the deal.

It seems very late in the day if that is the case, assuming he was having medical with us on Monday. I wonder if he would have taken the time for a medical with us if an approach had been made by another club? He returned from holiday Sunday/ Monday.
