We've made him an offer and so have MK Dons. He's not keen on the travel so I would think someone nearer to his home will get him, if he receives a suitable offer.

No, he went to Forest Green as their number 2 after their previous on loan keeper had been recalled by Brighton. He only got a run of games initially after coming on for their injured keeper and was even benched for their final 4 league games before coming back in for the play-off semi-final. They were also already sitting comfortably in 4th place before he made an appearance for them.
Incorrect - Ward was signed as a replacement keeper. Then the would be second place goalie got injured. Apparently Ward played very well before picking up an injury himself which explains his absence prior to the play offs.

So you agree that the club can do better than Cornell then?
Probably yes it can. But you maybe missing the point of the argument - the experts at the Club (not you,Glaston,Man04 etc) that is the current management feel that Cornell is ok - or until somebody comes up and who is affordable for the Club. With funds relatively tight why spend the budget on a non essential goal keeper; we have other areas which have greater priority?

I would love to see Adams come back but despite the history with us and with KC I can’t see it happening - now that he’s available on a free he’ll be inundated with offers from Northern clubs which would mean he won’t have to move his family.

No in full agreement with manwork, Cornell is not good enough if we want to improve on last season and KC will know that.

Thing I find strange is that we have lost another member of staff involved with the academy. This time it's the 'head of academy coaching' - not to be confused with the 'head of the academy. We also lost the 'lead development coach. In the space of 3 months, we have lost 3 long term members of staff that have been integral to the success of the academy. Given the current success, shouldn't we be doing more to hold on to these people?
Add another to the above. That makes 4.

Curle did not put Cornell up for transfer with other contracted players at the end of the season. This indicates he wants to keep him. He also did not bring in another gk in the January window and played him throughout the campaign. If Curle didn’t rate him , he would be gone . Simple as that .
Did you bother to read my post? As far as I am aware only 3 players were made available for transfer: Bunney, Waters and Taylor. At least 2 of those have/had made it clear of their wish to leave. The only player that I am unaware if he has asked to leave is Waters, but this doesn't mean that he hasn't. Both Bunney and Waters were out on loan all last season well. Of the players out of contract only Powell was offered (likely very reduced) terms. Are we supposed to believe that by some remarkable piece of fortune the only players that KC 'rated' in the squad at the seasons end happened to be (bar Powell) the ones still under contract? This would be absurd. That Cornell (or anyone else) hasn't been transfer listed means nothing.

So why was Ward on the bench for a number of games following his move and only bought on following an injury to their keeper? Most of Ward's appearances came with their keeper (Montgomery) out of the squad altogether through injury. A check also shows that when Montgomery played their final 4 league matches Ward was also on the bench, so he was not injured then I would think. Talk about twisting facts to suit Evers, anything in your obsessive defence of Cornell!

Got you. Ward only played in the play offs because Montomery was injured. That's fine. Why did you not just say so?

I enjoy any critical opinion of a (NTFC) player but I think along with two or three others; you have developed an obsessive opinion which you air constantly to hammer home a derided and outdated opinion. By the way what happened to your theory that the squad was more than good enough and should make the play-offs?

Except that CW all but dropped him in the last third of the season. So not a fact just an opinion?

I'm a bit lost...... Cornell played (almost) every game for Curle and was still under contract and was kept on. Taylor was still under contract, played very few games for Curle but was made available for transfer. So Curle wanted to keep Cornell and wanted to get rid of Taylor....correct? Ergo, it means something that Cornell was not listed doesn't it? Or maybe Cornell is quiet in the dressing room and doesn't make a fuss about anything......just saying!

Not sure if Adam's fits KC's profile, he doesn't seem to want to play any higher than league 2. As pointed out, Wilder didn't seem that keen on him towards the end of the season. Would he be a long term signing? not when a team gets promoted he wouldn't. Leave him where he is , up North.
